Origins TheologyForum for the discussion of Creation Science (Young/Old) vs Theistic Evolution. Discussion of Atheistic Evolution should be taken to the Discussion and Debate forums.
Assyrian, you are not understanding my points. I am not going to repeat myself. You are looking at it from a different standpoint. I have showed how both cannot be related into each other. But you simply do not see it.
And Mallon, I see you like to "quote" Charles Darwin. Whenever you nothing about the basis of his claims. I will show this later. I am tired of posting things that people just do not understand. Do not say, I do not know what to answer, because I could answer Assyrian and SFS or whoever right now. I just don't feel like restating my point. But I will probably tomorrow. I have more important things to do than live my life on Christian Forums.

Well, when you do return, I hope you'll kindly demonstrate what you mean by "Whenever you nothing [sic] about the basis of his claims." Whatever that means.

Heh heh.

LOL. I would like to inform you, he did not "believe" in evolution. Notice the word, "If" in there a couple times, LOL.
Also notice this when he said, " I FORMERLY believed the ToE was true..."
That means he used to, this does not prove anything whatsoever. Just notice the IF in there Assyrian. Then you might be able to figure out what he is saying, evolution is not true. Just re-read it again, lol.
You seriously think I missed all that? I wasn't claiming Torrey as a TE, he says quite clearly that he is not. But there are two part to the quote, there are the reasons he gives for not believing in evolution, but science was not Torrey's field and in any case his information is about a hundred years out of date. It is fine as an insight to how Torrey thought about these issues, but not much relevance to us today. Where Torrey is important today is his understanding of theology and the bible. That does not go out of date so fast, and those were the parts I highlighted. Torrey might not have accepted evolution but unlike modern fundamentalists, this founder of the Fundmentalist movement understood that there was no conflict between evolution and the inspiration of scripture, and that evolution gave even more glory to God the creator than creationism does.
