It's not even "too much Old Testament", in the Old Testament God is compassionate, shows mercy, is patient and long-suffering. Consider the lesson we learn from Jonah, or the word delivered to Ezekiel that God does not desire the death of the wicked, that God takes no pleasure or joy in the destruction of the wicked by desires that that the wicked repent and change their ways so they might live and have life. God has always been a merciful, compassionate, kind and patient God who has no desire for the destruction of the wicked, who has loving-kindness for the sinner and for the wicked person to change their ways and truly live and have life. -CryptoLutheran

I'm rather confused at this thread... where do we draw the line between the government setting up emergency plans for potential-and-possible threats to health and security... and the government actually triggering the threats themselves to grab more power for themselves?
Most of the articles I've read, and exercises I've seen and read about, deal with training our health care and support people how to react in a worst-case pandemic situation. What should we do if another pandemic like 1917 comes through? This time we would expect our governments (local, state, federal, and international) to communicate better, be better prepared, and distribute medical and sustenance aid where needed on a timely basis.
We're fairly well prepared for localized disasters. We have hurricanes, tornadoes, fires, and earthquakes every couple of years, and we have plans in place and agencies (both governmental and volunteer) who are trained to respond to such things. But a nation-wide, or worse world-wide pandemic is another matter altogether.
Perhaps it is just hype, and we won't see one. But I'd rather we be prepared for the worst and not have to use the emergency plans than to be caught without a plan when we need one.

The trouble is that when we are truthful, the answer must always be "No." So let's ask the question a different way.
Has Jesus given everything for you? Has he dedicated his whole life to you? Has he invited you into his heart? And the answer to that is a glorious and gracious and conscious, freeing, comforting YES!
(paraphrased from Pastor Wolfmueller, Table Talk Radio)
Let's add this article from August 2007 to show that this is all a contrived, generated event to bring in a New World Order under the control of the UN, as Bush 41 declared would happen.
"President Bush signed in May two documents, National Security Presidential Directive-51 and Homeland Security Presidential Directive-20, which give the office of the president extraordinary powers to declare national emergencies and to assume near-dictatorial powers. "

So tonight, let us ask ourselves – if our children should live to see the next century; if my daughters should be so lucky to live as long as Ann Nixon Cooper, what change will they see? What progress will we have made?
This is our chance to answer that call. This is our moment. This is our time – to put our people back to work and open doors of opportunity for our kids; to restore prosperity and promote the cause of peace; to reclaim the American Dream and reaffirm that fundamental truth – that out of many, we are one; that while we breathe, we hope, and where we are met with cynicism, and doubt, and those who tell us that we can’t, we will respond with that timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people:
Yes We Can. "

uh-huh. you DO realize that i think it's all bs, yes?
Yes, I had gotten that impression - hence the word "HYPOTHETICAL." I wasn't asking people to answer based on adhering to whether they ACTUALLY thought the flu was a real threat or not.
But like I said, if you and others like you aren't going to take the vaccine, I hope for the sake of you and the people around you that you are right.
That said, a thought has occured to me recently - if this big evil NWO conspiracy is wanting to wipe out True Christians (tm), surely the best way would be to release an actual disease while allowing the Christians to think that the vaccine is tainted. Everyone else gets vaccinated, the faithful don't - disease comes and goes - no more (or at least, less) Christians. Sort of like the tenth plague but in reverse and with a bigger death toll.
This vaccine bioweapon stuff is so amateurish. But hey, what do I know

at least you admit you don't know everything. I agree that you don't.
AS far as plagues, sicknesses, are you not aware of this verse in God's Word?
"There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. ~Psalm 91:10
