What is going on in Ukraine looks thus far a lot more serious than what we are dealing with. If America were in a situation with a highly infectious agent with a high mortality rate you can bet your bottom dollar that the military will be used on American soil. I support this 100% because this forum is proof that people are sometimes too gullible for their own safety.
I do think that the vast majority of people making medical breakthroughs do so because they are good people. You say "big pharma" as if everyone making drugs or contributing to peer reviewed journals is somehow "in" on this big money making scam. In reality this is simply not the case, there are a few bad apples but the industry saves BILLIONS of lives.
The problem with your Jefferson quote is that the masses have proven themselves to be too stupid to educate. This whole thread is a perfect example, the vaccine is being given to millions of Americans right now and people who there are still people claiming it is unsafe. There are plenty of people on this very forum who have been vaccinated and are just fine.
You can rationalize your paranoia all you want, I mean what if the people posting here are CIA/big pharma? You discount the whole of medical literature and peer review by simply lumping it in with "big pharma" even though interest disclosures are required in respectable medical journals.
If you want to debate the facts you will sorely lose because all of the data collected thus far shows that the vaccine is safe and that the pandemic is serious.
