| The Unfathomable Riches of Christ I took this phrase from Ephesians 3:8 To me, the very least of all saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christ,
NASB
I wrote that phrase down and have been mulling it over. Noah Webster's dictionary of 1828 gives the best definition I could find for unfathomable. 2. So deep or remote that the limit or extent cannot be found. The designs of Providence are often unfathomable. Here are what other versions read. .........to proclaim to the Gentiles the unending (boundless, fathomless, incalculable, and exhaustless) riches of Christ [wealth which no human being could have searched out],
AMP
.....I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;
KJV
.....he graciously gave me the privilege of telling the Gentiles about the endless treasures available to them in Christ.
NLT
......to proclaim to the Gentiles the incalculable riches of the Messiah, HCSB
.....the inexhaustible riches and generosity of Christ.
MSG
It is my aim to discover more and more of these riches of my Beloved's, not only for my own sake, but to tell them to others.
I have noticed the rich language of Ephesians in chapters 1 and 2 also. This word, and words like it, keep popping up. What a wealth, what a treasure is on our Lord Jesus.
What wealth have you discovered? I want to open this topic for discussion to glorify the Lord and strengthen His body. Share more scriptures, there's lots of them!

Second, practice your religion without adulterating it or toning it down. Third, emphasize love and make it your working force, for love is central in Christianity. Fourth, study the non-Christian religions more sympathetically to find the good that is within them in order to have a more sympathetic approach to the people.” |
