Anybody from the Lubbock area or close?

I've been thinking to relocate there for the past year. I have family there, but it's just a huge jump for me. I want to have everything in place like of course a residence, job, schools, daycare..before I actually do it. Its been such a personal struggle the past few years. I just want to make this transition as smooth as possible. I know we cant always get everything just so-so, but to have the ground work pretty much laid out would really help me feel more comfortable in helping the kids adjust and not have to struggle from the get-go.

My main questions are:

The best/safest "smaller feeling" schools? Ive heard that the ones on the southwest end of Lubbock pretty much fit into what Im looking for.

I need some nursing connections down there. I wont be able to work nights. There are a couple of nursing agencies that provide employment in the local area. Has anybody had any experience with these companies as in employment turnover/benefits/pay?

Daycare outside of school hours...any suggestions?

Churches? Non-denominational, but I tend to attend the Assembly of God churches. One with a great youth ministry. I want my kids involved as much as possible in that area.

Best renting companies? I will eventually buy a home there, but I dont feel Im in the position to handle buying one right now. I could afford to get started, but as for upkeep and such...I just dont want to go there right now.

Anything else you can suggest or advise on, I'd appreciate it.

I live in the Lubbock area and know of some of the things that you have posted. 1. "Smaller feeling schools"- I don't know what you really mean by that but the schools even towards the south end of town are getting big fast. For my pick, either schools in the Frenship (Wolfforth) school district or Lubbock Cooper schools are excellent schools but are filling up fast due to the drastic population increase in the area.

Of the other things you ask about, I really don't know. If you want me to, I'll check into that IF you want me to. Thanks.
