dereckbc, based on the information that you've shared here, as a UM pastor I would feel privileged to have you join our church and would never ask for a person who had received Christian baptism, by whatever form, to be rebaptized. The process of joining would be to send a letter to your former church asking for a letter of transfer. However, we would probably transfer your membership without waiting for the actually arrival of that letter (not all churches actually bother to send them) by simply having you come down front some Sunday morning and asking of you the relevant questions that you can find in the ritual which begins on page 33 in the front of the United Methodist Hymnal.
By the way, according to the official United Methodist website the following is asked and answered with regard to the mode of baptism:
Question: Is sprinkling the only way that United Methodists baptize?
Answer: No, our church has always offered to people being baptized and to the parents of infants the choice of sprinkling, pouring, or immersion.
The United Methodist Book of Worship states:
United Methodists may baptize by any of the modes used by Christians. Candidates or their parents have the choice of sprinkling, pouring, or immersion; and pastors and their congregations should be prepared to honor requests for baptism in any of these modes.
Nothing wrong with the term "sprinkled", we Methodist use it ourselves all the time, we also baptize by immersion and pouring in addtion to sprinkling.
