I was just kinda hoping some people could share their thoughts/experiences with this situation. My heart is really softened towards people in Uganda, children especially and i would love to go out there at some point. Currently i am active with a sponsorship program and thats great, but i feel like i could do more. Financially thats not possible, i mean our needs are met daily, praise God, but no real room to grow in that way. And so then i decide to focus more in my area, and there are some things i feel is also heavy on my heart and it also takes money and alot of dedication and spiritual strength. I'm struggling with the motivation a bit but am doing my best to study and understand Gods Word so i am prepared... I have a family of my own, a 4 year old...and so what is the right kind of step of faith to take? I suppose this is kind of redundant since i will see what His plan is in time but i'm just wanting to know if others went through this kind of thing and what preparation they prioritized in spiritual health. Thanks

Considering the state of "Christian America" don't forget the folks here at home. I'm very supportive of missions but believe the biggest mission field is in our churches and communities. There are several top-notch, biblical organizations who now only use indiginous people in other countries. That is thy go over and disciple people already there.
Either way, whatever you choose, I believe it's awesome you're willing to step out. God will answer you in due time. I'm very impatient so He teaches me this lesson regularly:-)
lol...i like how you say regularly...i feel that is how it is with me and learning lessons.
Thank you for responding i appreciate the insight. So i think something to learn as of now would be patience with myself and God. So no need to rush myself into God's plans...it'll be here in His time not mine anyways. I should be content for now and just do the thing He has called me to do right now and not worry about tomorrow since today has enough worries. ^^ At least i can do whats in my community and not stretch myself thin especially in spiritual areas...
Again i thank you, God bless you and yours!

Sounds like you got yourself a calling. Funny thing is, when I was reading this, it brought to mind a conversation I had just had yesterday. My friend, who already know her calling since God himself told her, is in a very similar position. She has 2 kids and her husband. Her calling is to be a missionary. So she's feeling the same way. But just recently, God came to her in a vision telling her that she had to be patient and obedient. So she's be like a race horse in the containment section, waiting for the gate to throw open.
So what I'm thinking is that you should keep it cool until the opportuninty presents itself. After all, God has a way of fitting things together so that you lose nothing

Sorry to not respond in such a while, things have just been pretty crazy for me. I know that i'm supposed to be joyful through tests and trials of obedience, but i think i struggle alot with that particular area...obedience. Plus unbelief...just many different strongholds. I dunno what God is refining but i hope it comes out a lot better and shinier. I just need to cling to the truths and Word i've learned during these times. But seriously, in spiritual areas i could use some prayer... if you wish to pray i would appreciate it And 2 King i really hope that God makes that last sentence you said true of my life.
