Well this is fairly mental, even for a conspiracy.

A typical MM thread. But it seems to be claiming Lance Armstrong is the greatest cyclist ever. There is no way Lance makes the top 3.

I do wish I could figure out just what the prediction was so I could get a second laugh when it does not come to pass.

Lance? Greatest Cyclist of all time? Bahhh! Eddie gets that crown! Does anyone rememebr Miguel? 5 straight like it was nothing then retirement shortly after. Prolly the same people claiming Tyson was the greatest boxer of all time.

Years ago I compiled a listing of winners of what I call the big 9 events of cycling. The 3 Grand Tours, the 5 Monuments and the Worlds Championship. It turned out to be very interesting. Only 13 or 14 times (working from memory) has someone won 3 or more of these in one year. Yet 2 is fairly common (one year 3 different riders won 2 out of 9). Before Merckx only Fausto Coppi had won 4 in one year. No one hed ever won 3 or more more than one time. Then came Eddy. He won 3 or more 7 years in a row. Since Eddy no one has won more than 3 in a year, no one besides Eddy has done it more than once.

Mig is not one of them. Much as I like Mig he also is not near the top 3.

I stopped caring about Armstrong when he raged against the US public for not caring about bicycle racing as much as they care about NASCAR.
