Doctor Who Fan Fic

Chap 1

Ryan Tyson walked into a British Antique shop. He marveled at the beautiful antiques, which were older than New York City where he was, even older than America itself.
“Hello, may I help you?” said the shopkeeper as he came to the checkout counter.
“No, I’m just looking,” responded Ryan staring at an old chess table.
“Very well. If you want something just ring the bell on the counter.”
“I’ll do that, sir,” said Ryan.
He walked over to a table where a strange object rested. It was like a strange metal egg with several buttons on it, and a light on top. He picked it up, careful not to touch the buttons. He closely examined it. Suddenly the light on top started blinking. He set it down on the table as fast as he could. As he did so, he felt a strange tingling on his arm. He looked down at it to find that his watch had turned into a strange mechanical spider, and it was crawling up his arm. He banged on the bell and shouted, “Help! Ahh! Get it off!”
“What, in heaven’s name did you do?” asked the shopkeeper as he walked in.
“I didn’t do anything!” shouted Ryan, “Help me!”
Suddenly the spider grew three times its size, and started hovering through the air. Then, Ryan ran, he ran for his life.
“Help!” Ryan shouted as he ran out of the antique shop.
He saw a girl running towards him. Short black hair was cut to the nape of her neck, and blue eyes were below neat eyebrows and above a slightly large nose. Was she going to help? Ryan started running faster, when suddenly he fell face down on the concrete. The creature hovered over him and Ryan closed his eyes and waited for the inevitable. Instead he heard a strange whistling sound, then a clunk. He opened his eyes, and wound up staring at a pair of red and pink Nikes. The girl held out her hand and he took it. She helped him to his feet.
“Are you alright?” she asked him.
“Uh, yeah. Thank you.”
“No problem. I do this all the time.”
“I have to repay you somehow. Hey, you look like you could use a good home cooked meal. Come on,” Ryan said, pulling her behind him.
“Oh…ok.” She said a little surprised.
Ryan led her to his house.
“Mom, I’m home!” he shouted.
“Ryan! You’re late! You promised me you would be back by…who’s this?” Mrs. Tyson asked as she walked into the room.
“Mom, this is…oh darn! I never asked your name!”
“You can just call me the Professor,” the girl responded.
“Aren’t you a little young to teach?” Mrs. Tyson asked
“No, it’s just, my name is too hard too pronounce so everyone calls me the Professor.”
“Ryan, who’s this girl?” Mrs. Tyson asked.
“She saved me. I thought she could use a good, home cooked meal,” Ryan replied.
“Ok, well you should have called me,” Mrs. Tyson said.
“Sorry, but I left my phone here on accident,” Ryan said.
“Ryan, I have to go take care of that device,” said the Professor, “If I don’t, then it won’t stop wreaking havoc.”
“What device? Oh, you mean that egg thing?” Ryan asked
“Yes, but it’s called a Dreshorian Desmugifying Granding machine.”
“Ok…Can I call it a DDG?”
“Whatever, but like I said, I can’t stay,” the Professor responded.
“I’ll come with you,” Ryan said searching for his coat.
“You will not!” said Mrs. Tyson.
“Sorry Mom, but I need to,” Ryan said putting on his coat, “I have to save the world.”
“But Ryan…” Mrs. Tyson began to say before Ryan left.

Chap 2
The Professor opened the door to the antique store.
“So where is this device?” she asked Ryan as he came in.
The storekeeper had obviously run off in terror of the flying machine earlier. Ryan walked over to the table and picked up the device.
“Here it is,” Ryan said as he handed the device to the Professor.
She took it, pulled out a strange device that looked vaguely like a remote, pointed it at the DDG, and pushed random buttons on the remote thing. At least, they seemed random to Ryan. The remote made a strange whistling sound every time the professor pushed a button.
“What is that thing?” asked Ryan.
“This?” the professor asked, as she held up the remote thingy.
“It’s a sonic remote.”
“A sonic remote?” Ryan echoed.
“Yes, a sonic remote.”
The light on the DDG started blinking.
“Oh no! It’s been activated!” shouted the Professor.
Another spider crawled out of Ryan’s pocket, and it immediately got bigger.
“Run!” shouted the Professor turning to run out the door.
Ryan followed and they ran as fast as they could, Ryan, though, had no clue as to where they were going. The creature finally trapped them in an alley. There was nowhere to run. Ryan watched the Professor run into an old antique telephone booth.
“You’re going to hide in a wooden box?” Ryan shouted.
“No. I’m going to escape in one! Now, come on!” The Professor responded defensively.
Ryan was sure that they would be no safer in the box than they would outside it, but he decided that there was no reason why not. He ran through the door, expecting a tight squeeze. It was not what he expected. It was huge, probably bigger than his house.
“Where do you want to start?” the Professor asked him.
“The inside is bigger than the outside?”
“Ah yes, this is the Tardis. That’s T-A-R-D-I-S; Time and Relative Dimension in Space machine.”
“And you’re an alien?”
“Alien is a term used for outsiders of a society,” the Professor responded.
“I mean, you aren’t from this planet?”
“No. I’m not.”
“Are you human?”
“No. Is that ok?”
“Yeah. It’s kind of cool.”
“Good. Now that we have that out of the way, I have to trace the signal from the device,” the Professor said.
Ryan looked over at it. It was covered in wires, and was smoking.
“You mean the one that’s catching fire?” Ryan asked pointing towards it.
“What?” she asked with a weird face.
Then her face turned to panic as she ran towards the center console.
“No! No! No! I’ve got to follow the signal before I lose it!” the Professor shouted no one in particular.
The Professor started pushing buttons and pulling levers.
“Come on, come on,” she said.
The strange light tube that connected the console to the ceiling started flashing and the Tardis began making a whooshing sound. Ryan fell to the floor as the Tardis shook. Finally the ship stopped moving and the lights stopped flashing. The Professor walked out of the Tardis, and Ryan stood up and followed. When he looked out the door he saw that they were on the other side of the city near the Statue of Liberty.
“We moved?” Ryan shouted more than asked.
“Yes we did,” The Professor said not paying much attention.
“So, that thing flies?”
“More like disappears and reappears. You wouldn’t understand,” she responded dismissing the subject, “Aargh! I lost the signal too soon! I was so close!”
“So we’re close to where we’re supposed to be?” Ryan asked.
“Yes, we’re looking for a transmitter.”
“What does it look like?” Ryan asked as he looked out at Lady Liberty.
“Like a transmitter! Big, tall, several points on top…”
“Uh, Professor.” Ryan said trying to get her attention.
“But where could something that big be hidden? It’s impossible!” she said, lost in her thoughts.
“Professor!” Ryan shouted.
“What?” she said.
He pointed behind her to Lady Liberty. She turned around. When she turned to face him again she had that crazy smile on.
“Ryan, you are a genius!” she said, “Now where could someone hide near here?”
Ryan pointed towards a manhole, “What about the sewers?”
“Ryan I love you! Come on!” she said as she darted towards the manhole.
Ryan was right behind her.
