Do you want a desktop, or do you need the portability of a laptop? What do you intend to use it for?

I just bought a new Dell laptop and love it. I sold my MacBook- I'm a PC

Helpful tip: If you buy online, before you complete your order, Google search "dell coupons" and other keywords to see if you can find a sale or a discount. I did this and saved $150!

good call on the coupon, that is what I was going to input. If you dont like the current months coupons, wait for the next month. Dell normally has one out there, and google it, because if you call in they may not have the coupon at the call center, but if you give them the coupon # they can input it.

I saw some great PCs for under $500 at BestBuy this past week, particularly one HP with like 5 or 6 G Ram and 1/2 TB HD~~~I'm guessin' there's gonna be some good prices to flush the Vista loaded systems and make room for Windows 7.

For a week I borrowed my friend's 500 dollar new Acer Aspire 10.1" D250 notebook with no inbuilt CD player. Using wireless modem for internet, loading is slow but I browse the internet as it loads. High picture quality is excellent when I played Jewel Quest 2 and Luxor 2 at iWin.com, but I had to lower the volume from music option because it can make you lose concentration while completing a stage. Nice clear high definition Dolby sound through ordinary headphones. If you lose a printer driver software CD, you can download free from the company website eg. HP 1210 all-in-one printer from HP website.
I give my friend's notebook 9/10
It would be 10/10 if there is some kind of wireless bluetooth mouse so that I don't get sore finger muscles playing the puzzle games.

Stay as far away from Best Buy as you can, mate. They are rated as one of the worst tech shops in the US because of their marketing schemes and the constant screwups of the Geek Squad.

Recently, the Geek Squad has been charging $30 more on new computers for an "Optimization Fee". Their Optimization? Updating Windows... Yep, connecting it to the internet, clicking update, and updating it. That's all. Nothing more. What's worse though is that they also have the ability when a factory seal is broken to install whatever they want on the computer from keyloggers to spyware. And don't get me started on their extended warranty programs...

But don't take my word for it. Go to Consumerist.com and type in Best Buy and see what comes up. Reports from all sorts of bad business they do there are posted on that site by people who were scammed.

Couldn't they just buy it from BB if the price is good & not use their "tech support" ?

(I tend to format & do a clean install on any systems I buy from anywhere anyways)

Spoiler for Some Good Rules for Christians:

Luke 10:27 (Love God Above All, And Your Neighbor as yourself)
And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.

Matthew 7:12 (Do unto others)
Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

Matthew 5:43-48 (Pray for those that persecute you)
Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Luke 6:27-29 (Love your enemies.)
But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloak forbid not to take thy coat also.

If they find a Christian mistaken in a field which they themselves know well and hear him maintaining his foolish opinions about our books, how are they going to believe those books in matters concerning the resurrection of the dead, the hope of eternal life, and the kingdom of heaven, when they think their pages are full of falsehoods on facts which they themselves have learnt from experience and the light of reason? Reckless and incompetent expounders of holy Scripture bring untold trouble and sorrow on their wiser brethren when they are caught in one of their mischievous false opinions and are taken to task by those who are not bound by the authority of our sacred books.
Isaiah 8:12-13 (NIV) "Do not call conspiracy everything that these people call conspiracy; do not fear what they fear, and do not dread it. The Lord Almighty is the one you are to regard as holy, he is the one you are to fear, he is the one you are to dread."
