an old school building, buses, military, & being burned
This dream started out where I was with someone (didn't see who in the dream) and we were shopping for clothes. I remember there being a round rack of clothes that I was looking through. Then all the sudden I said something about having to go or I'll be late for school. I looked at a clock and it said 8:17. I distinctly remember that.
Then I was in a vehicle and we were driving down a road in the middle of nowhere. We pulled into the lot of a large school. I said, "This isn't my school." It was a huge building that was really old looking. It had a lot of windows and some were busted out. It was kind of gray in color I believe.
The next thing I know I'm inside the building, walking out of one of the rooms. I just walked around a bit and then went out of the building. There were a lot of buses outside the door that I came out of. I guess there were buses from several different schools because I asked someone "Where's *insert name of the school I graduated from*?" They pointed and I went in that direction, found the bus with my school's name on it, and got on.
There was someone who would step in, look at the people on the bus, then direct them where to go. We were driving over to someplace where we were going to get burned or something like that. It's like in the dream I just knew that. I also seemed to know that there were other buses being directed over there, like there were a line of buses going to be burned, yet I didn't see that in the dream. Then as we were headed in that direction I looked over and there were military guys walking around and a tank. I was thinking, Good. The military is here. thinking they were going to help us get out of there.
So, I ran up to the bus driver and said, "We've got to get out of here. We have to change this. If we don't then who will?" So the driver floored it, made a u-turn, and sped through the lot, headed for the opening in the fence that other buses were exiting through. As we were headed to that exit, the tank started coming after us, and we were being shot at. We made it through the exit and were back on that road out in the middle of nowhere. That's when I woke up.
Really odd dream. Thought I'd post it here and see if anyone has any idea what it could mean.

Shopping for clothes - deeds - clothes are covering for nakedness.
School... where one is taught... teachings breed deeds (I am also thinking here, "disease" for some odd reason).
Gray, old, bombed out, middle of nowhere... not sure. "Not my school", someplace new? Unexpected trip to the desert?
You graduated from a school... yet were at school? And they put you on a bus for graduates for that school?
Maybe some teachings which you graduated from which were not good? Or maybe someone wanted to exchange the grace of God for deeds of men?
Burn with fire... symbolism for a lot of things... means here you have to get that bus driver to turn around for survival... or you will go into it. You escape and end up on a road to nowhere.
If you see something bad happening... and maybe something from your past or past teachings put you on that bus... you still have a chance to get that driver to drive out of there: means survival, though you end up on a road in the middle of nowhere (desert?).
Where from there, I wonder? Some deserts are uninhabitable. Maybe the bus is out of gas, or can it make it back to a safe city?

This appears relaxed. Consumer activity that's half-necessary, half entertainment. Circular things tend to show a fulfillment, a positive balance, everything in order (no loose ends, tangents, conflicts in the line of a circe).
Then all the sudden I said something about having to go or I'll be late for school.
Sudden realization of a responsibility. You might have been torn between doing things with that peer, and being responsible. Yanked from spending, toward investing in your future. You were the one who insisted on the responsible path.
I looked at a clock and it said 8:17. I distinctly remember that.
Some people might say August seventeenth. Or a Bible passage to look up.
Then I was in a vehicle and we were driving down a road in the middle of nowhere.
In control, in transit, with others.
We pulled into the lot of a large school.
Public area, lot designated for people who belonged there/committed to work. Dream schools can relate to information and learning in general. Or places of obedience in training.
I said, "This isn't my school."
It was a huge building that was really old looking. It had a lot of windows and some were busted out. It was kind of gray in color I believe. Lifeless, nonfunctional, leaking. A place that should be giving life and insight, breathing laughter and shouts in the hallways, friendships and intelligent gain.
The next thing I know I'm inside the building, walking out of one of the rooms. I just walked around a bit and then went out of the building. Allowed yourself to observe from the inside. Less public, more connected to the source. Buildings can be parts of ourselves, too, so this could be an area about your life (or entity) that you feel has been degraded and changed without permission by an outside force.
There were a lot of buses outside the door that I came out of. Many people taking the same route, many choices in a public realm, but not your own choice to be in control, as a car would show. Dependent on a driver to get you places.
I guess there were buses from several different schools because I asked someone "Where's *insert name of the school I graduated from*?" Very out of control under someone else's system, and not even sure who is running the program or how many are involved. Overwhelming options with little information.
They pointed and I went in that direction, found the bus with my school's name on it, and got on.

Thanks for the replies. I think I can see what this is most likely about. It's like my life has been relaxed and seems to be in balance. But, now I'm realizing a responsibility of something the Lord is leading me to do...move someplace to become involved in ministry there. And, instead of spending I have to start using my money toward this. Then driving down the road in transit is like being on my way to go there maybe...you said with others and there are others who are moving there, just not anyone I personally know though. The place I would be moving to is referred to by them as a little town out in the woods...could be where the middle of nowhere reference is coming from.
This would be a place of learning and obedience in training I guess. Then the observing from the inside is basically what I will be doing when I go there to the ministry place to attend a conference they are having in about 2 weeks.
Many people headed in the same route can be like many people who are also moving there cause there are others who have moved there and are going to move there. Not your own choice to be in control, dependent on the driver to get you there...that to me seems like letting God be in control and being completely dependent on Him to get me there, which I am in this.
The overwhelming options with little information kind of seems like where I am with this right now. I don't really know a lot about the area I would be moving to, so there is little information (although someone from that ministry has said to call and they will help me out).
To me the headed toward the fire and then saying that we need to get out of here and change this seems like maybe going through the fire, like going through something difficult in the process of getting there and then wanting to get out of that difficulty "getting out of the fire". The having someone direct you where to go could be like God directing your path and sometimes we have to go through things so we can be changed and be prepared for something He has for us to do.
Then the military could be like the enemy trying to stop us from going to where God is leading. We were on our way out of there and heading toward the road...where we would be back on the way to our destination. The military in this dream was trying to stop us from doing so...it could be like the enemy trying to stop us from getting there. But, we got away and were then on our way.
Seems to me like it could be representing having everything relaxed and seemingly in balance, headed in my own direction to my destination (being in the drivers seat). Then suddenly realizing the responsibility of what God wants me to do. Going to explore that and allowing Him to be in control (in the drivers seat).
Then the enemy trying to stop me and lead me into difficulties (like some people refer to as 'going through the fire' meaning going through something difficult) and trying to stop me from going where God wants me to. Then getting away from that and back onto the road to where God wants me to go.
That's just what I felt it means for me after reading your responses. I didn't see it that way until you brought it to my attention. Thanks.

My guess is, after reading this... is that you might find yourself in a challenging situation. Military might represent "enemy", but it could represent Church authority in the Spirit. I would be careful on that.
Sometimes we run across things with even trusted friends that challenges us... some good, some bad (ultimately all for good, because God is God)... it can be critical to be brave, see the danger, and say to the bus driver, "Turn this around, we have to get out of here".
And you know they will listen to you - whoever this will be - so trust *that*.
