Insanity works for me, agenda driven insanity. Washington is broken, has been for many years. The fact that she is not a Washington type is the draw. She could make it work. Back in the 70's Washington went almost as crazy as today. 21 percent intrest rates and gas lines ended the madness. It's all about timing. We shall see. Off to a tea party!

Receiving the spirit of God is a miracle, it's a gift given to those that have been allowed to see their lost condition and they cry out to the Lord: Romans 10:9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. |

Interestingly enough, this also frees her to act.

"Even as it stands, the Home Guard could only exist in a country where men feel themselves free. The totalitarian states can do great things, but there is one thing they cannot do: they cannot give the factory-worker a rifle and tell him to take it home and keep it in his bedroom. That rifle hanging on the wall of the working-class flat or labourer's cottage is the symbol of democracy. It is our job to see that it stays there."

"Police, at all times, should maintain a relationship with the public that gives reality to the historic tradition that the police are the public and the public are the police; the police being only members of the public who are paid to give full-time attention to duties which are incumbent upon every citizen in the interests of community welfare and existence."

It is true she does not live in Washington, however that has not stopped her from doing her best to make Alaska her personal Washington. |

Reps: 409,424,926,118,870,016 (power: 409,424,926,118,891) | | | I think that Palin will try to go the Mike Huckabee route--get a show on the Fox News network and stay in the public eye every week until she can start running for President.
I think it's worked well for Huckabee--he has considerable charm, a great sense of humor, and a positive message. I don't watch Fox News, but I do tune in to Huckabee occasionally, and his show is a delight. He always ends playing bass guitar with some country music star or other and some other amateur musicians from the Fox News staff, shaped into a band called the Little Rockers.
He has parlayed his TV show into a three times daily radio address (a la Paul Harvey) which is every bit as charming.
(And I'm not a Republican.)
And he has some bestselling books to boot.
The candidate who was too compassionate a conservative for big business to take seriously will, I believe, be their front runner in 2012, because he knows how to use the media to his advantage and will have been in people's living rooms for four years--without having said the wrong thing once, just exuding charm, humor, and optimism.
I don't think this will work as well for Palin, because her charisma doesn't charm the opposition (as Huckabee's does.) It appalls them.
Huckabee can charm the moderates (because in many ways he is a moderate--much more moderate than the big business Republicans.)
Nevertheless, I think she will try the media route.

That's an interesting thought, particularly since Palin's degree and initial work experience were in broadcasting. And if she is decent a reading a teleprompter and repeating what is recited in her ear, it would be a good way for her to appear more knowledgeable than she actually is about various issues. OTOH, you are correct that it increases her visibility and her risk of making gaffes on camera. I would have to think Fox would offer her a job if she had any interest.

You know, a charge like that is how we get rid of bad leaders. Ethics charges are filed against people who have made questionable decisions while in office, often by appointing unqualified individuals. Without them, everyone could just fire everyone else in government and replace it with their friends and family. It's a means of checks and balances. Interestingly enough, this also frees her to act.

Mark Sanford, who should resign, is hanging onto the governor's office by his Argentinian fingertips.
Sarah Palin, who doesn't have to resign, RESIGNS as governor in the middle of her term - under a cloud of mystery. |

From what I understand though, since the campaign, she's been deluged with baseless ethics complaints.
She's a private citizen instead of a public official.
