She really wasn't a nobody before the election; she was a rising Republican star, darling of conservative pundits such as Billy Kristol.
I find her interesting as a character (not so much as a person).

Well, Bill Ayers was a terrorist, and no reasonable person can deny that Obama had some, erm, 'shady' friends.

"Even as it stands, the Home Guard could only exist in a country where men feel themselves free. The totalitarian states can do great things, but there is one thing they cannot do: they cannot give the factory-worker a rifle and tell him to take it home and keep it in his bedroom. That rifle hanging on the wall of the working-class flat or labourer's cottage is the symbol of democracy. It is our job to see that it stays there."

They served on the same board for 3 years where they would meet for quarterly reports. Very close friends indeed, I believe most people would call them former co-workers. |

Reps: 2,689,428,304,025 (power: 2,689,428,314) | | | And, of course, there's her Friday morning resignation. If you haven't listened to her speech, it's a real gem ... very strange (with her trademark stream of consciousness, rambling style). And there are some blogger rumors going around of an embezzlement scandal that's about to break having to do with the Palins awarding lucrative contracts to SBS builders in exchange for favors like building their lakeside home ....
I can't imagine how she can ever make a serious presidential bid after this mid-term ship jumping stunt (and even less so, of course, if there's a criminal investigation behind it) |

Friends and advisors Greta van Susteran and John Coale are Scientologists, but Palin still belongs to the Wasilla Bible Church until she announces otherwise. Her credientials are not flimsy on that point.

According to scientology's definition of a scientologist, she already is one.
I'm not for a moment doubting that she is a recognised member of a specific parish. However, that isn't really all it takes to be a bona fide Christian is it? Just look at all the people still demanding that Obama is a Muslim, despite his membership in a Christian church.
But whatever. Palin's a wing nut. Good ridance to bad rubbish. I liked John McCain, he was my prefered candidate from before the Republican primaries, but when he lost the election, I was still sort of relieved that Palin wouldn't be able to slither into the Oval Office over McCain's dead body. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | | | |
