The one thing I don't understand is why she wasn't simply forgotten the minute the election results came in. She was a nobody before the election, so why does she just KEEP...POPPING...UP? What is it about this woman that, even half a year after she ceased to be relevant in any way, she still has the power to captivate the news?
She really wasn't a nobody before the election; she was a rising Republican star, darling of conservative pundits such as Billy Kristol.
I find her interesting as a character (not so much as a person).

This video from just a month after she was nominated, she had stated that lie at three rallies by that point.
Well, Bill Ayers was a terrorist, and no reasonable person can deny that Obama had some, erm, 'shady' friends.

"Even as it stands, the Home Guard could only exist in a country where men feel themselves free. The totalitarian states can do great things, but there is one thing they cannot do: they cannot give the factory-worker a rifle and tell him to take it home and keep it in his bedroom. That rifle hanging on the wall of the working-class flat or labourer's cottage is the symbol of democracy. It is our job to see that it stays there."

"Police, at all times, should maintain a relationship with the public that gives reality to the historic tradition that the police are the public and the public are the police; the police being only members of the public who are paid to give full-time attention to duties which are incumbent upon every citizen in the interests of community welfare and existence."

They served on the same board for 3 years where they would meet for quarterly reports. Very close friends indeed, I believe most people would call them former co-workers.

You guys all know that Palin is a scientology stooge, right? You think Obama's Christian credentials are flimsy, you should look deeper in Ms. Palin's.
And, of course, there's her Friday morning resignation. If you haven't listened to her speech, it's a real gem ... very strange (with her trademark stream of consciousness, rambling style). And there are some blogger rumors going around of an embezzlement scandal that's about to break having to do with the Palins awarding lucrative contracts to SBS builders in exchange for favors like building their lakeside home ....
I can't imagine how she can ever make a serious presidential bid after this mid-term ship jumping stunt (and even less so, of course, if there's a criminal investigation behind it)

Friends and advisors Greta van Susteran and John Coale are Scientologists, but Palin still belongs to the Wasilla Bible Church until she announces otherwise. Her credientials are not flimsy on that point.

According to scientology's definition of a scientologist, she already is one.
I'm not for a moment doubting that she is a recognised member of a specific parish. However, that isn't really all it takes to be a bona fide Christian is it? Just look at all the people still demanding that Obama is a Muslim, despite his membership in a Christian church.
But whatever. Palin's a wing nut. Good ridance to bad rubbish. I liked John McCain, he was my prefered candidate from before the Republican primaries, but when he lost the election, I was still sort of relieved that Palin wouldn't be able to slither into the Oval Office over McCain's dead body.
