Ha, ha ..., see what do they make? A smart girl like YOU.
Whenever you have chance to go back to your homeland, please visit the church there. You will be amazed on what kind of people Communist regime ultimately cultivated.

There are some churchgoers in China. Mostly from the less educated and more credulous part of the population.
'course, im from Hk that was spared the horrors of maoism. Your notion that I would be amazed by my own homeland is kind of weird.
is there a point to your post ? The point of mine is that if the USA insists on dumbing itself out of existence there will be people to take charge, and they wont be Christian fundamentalists with the 'highest degree of education".
As someone who was very close to a school shooting, things like this actually make me sick to my stomach.
Likewise. My cousin was shot outside my shop class when I was in 8th grade..over a JACKET!
And as someone with a daughter who will be entering school soon. The idea of Creationists weasling their way into the education systems in this country does not make me comfortable.
Science is imperfect and cannot replace what I will tell my child about God.
Science doesn't talk about God, so it can't replace what you tell your child about it.
Or are you all telling your children that science is perfect and makes no mistakes?
Who here said science is perfect? It's easy to attack a strawman like that.
What I will tell my child when she's older is that she needs to look at the evidence and see what that says. If that would mean she would become religious, I won't mind. All I want is that she takes a (honest, not the strawman kind) look at what the world around her says and makes a well-thought out decision.
Heh, in fact, if I get my way, I'll insist she takes religious classes when she goes to public school. I didn't want her baptised because I want her to make her own decisions.

I mostly lurk, but "still waiting" has got to be one of the most repeated phrases around here.
The number of times you guys ask creationists to *gasp* back up what they're saying, but never get a response should be embarrassing for them.
I don't think it does. The Creationist literature I've seen, pamphlets, children's books, programs, etc. Seems to paint a picture that creationists absolutely don't care if something is an outright lie. So why get embarrassed?
By it's very nature creationism requires it's followers to lie, it's not a slur on creationist it's a failing of creationism, how else could they maintain their belief system without lying? it's based on a myth and supported by nothing, the outcome can only be lies,...
False. You are misinformed. Show me a lie in accepting that God created the world?

Creationist lie 1) God created the world. You have no proof of this so it is a lie. (the bible is a book, not proof)
My lie 1) Santa Clause created the world. I have no proof of this so it is a lie. (the book of Christmas stories is a book, not proof)
I do not need proof, it is the default. You have no proof it is a lie. Neither have you proof that your same state stuff is true. What DO you have, then? That is the question.
It is no good us saying that they are not lies but they are something we believe to be true, telling children something is the truth when you have no proof that it is, is as good as lying to them, we all occasionally do it unintentionally but we should never do it intentionally, believing something and proving it are two different things, that's why science is taught in the science class and religion is taught in a religions class.
So, we ought to be sure to tell kids that a same state past is something we have no proof for. Got it. You have no proof of a same state past, yet it is taught.
