Okay so I know, have witnessed both secondhand and personally certain healing "power."
In the Bible, I know it says that we have the ability to do anything that Jesus himself done. Not sure where or exactly how it is worded. As well it also states through Jesus all things are made possible.
My mom cut a good portion of the end of her thumb and one of my aunts read a Bible verse a few times and the bleeding stopped instantly.
I had a grill to "explode"(flame up really high) in my face and burned me fairly badly. We went to my wife's aunt's house and she "talked the fire out" of my face. My face still felt chapped from being scorched but it didn't burn anymore. This one I am not sure but based on my limited understanding it seems to be something to do with the bible.
My aunt who stopped the bleeding, she told my mom the Bible verse and said that anyone can do it.
But my wife's aunt who "talks fire out" had her gift passed down from my wife's great grandpa right before he died.
Once again I do not know for sure if it is a Christian thing but I am wondering if it is and given the Bible says things such as we have the powers to do what Jesus did through faith, then why would that be so secretive?

Jesus, although God, laid his mantle of God down when he came to the earth. Everything he did, he did through the Holy Spirit living in him. The same Holy Spirit that lives within each of us. He showed us how it should be done - so the question is "why can't we do what He did?". We can, because its not us doing it but God working through us, and He is not limited. All we need to do is have faith - the bible says faith of a mustard seed can move mountains. To translate that into modern terms, the smallest amount of faith known can move the biggest thing known. I was at a healing conference by Currie Blake, and he gave an explanation of faith which i think is accurate - he said faith is not neccesarily belief in God, but rather it is standing on Gods word and trusting that He is faithful and will do what He has promised. Also, faith isnt a "measurable" quantity, but rather a quality - standing on His word is having faith.
Anyway, back to the question - part of Jesus' death was that He defeated sickness and ailments (his body, in Communion - sins were taken away by his blood). So, just like you accept forgiveness, in the same way you can accept healing. So when your aunt stands on that fact that Jesus defeated infirmity, and claims that the finger is healed / will be healed in Jesus' name, the finger has no option to heal.
I hope that all made sense. I'm trying to summarise a lot into a short explanation - its something which i have only recently learnt, so im still grasping it myself...
I do not personally know how it happens at all and I think the more I study it.. the less I know .. but I do know JESUS doesn't lie.. and if we believe HIM and what HE says.. all things are possible to them who will believe..

I'd say that about sums it up. Divine healing works by believing what God has said in His Word is the truth. It's not rocket science, it's meant to be simple so ordinary folk can do it.
I would encourage you to look up scriptures that speak of God's Spirit being within you and to meditate on these scriptures. As you become more conscious of His presence within you, you will have greater success in the ministry of healing; as you are lead by Him.
I think Healing is complicated! God Heals but, there are many different factors. The little child needs healing and parents pray and at that moment the child isn't healed but, later down the line the child is healed. Someone needs healing and instantly healed. I can say God loves all and wants all to have life. Most importantly to live spiritually. No matter your situation keep believing God and learn to praise during your situation. Glory!
