this week for various reasons we decided it was time to buy a new car to replace our old one which was almost 10 years old. Friday was the day to go to the dealer, having done the research and chosen the model beforehand on the net.
As it happened, Friday was also the first day on the job for a new sales co-ordinator and i was her first customer. As we got to talking (thru all the paperwork!) she saw my cross necklace that i always wear, and mentioned that she was looking for a new church. I told her a bit about ours and gave her a pen with the church logo, address, and phone number (i always carry a church pen with me to give out.)
She took the pen, thanked me, and told me of some of her experiences. today i had to go back to the dealership to pick up the car (more paperwork!)
and she offered to come out to our place to get my hubby's signature on some of the papers. So while we were here i showed her the church website on my computer, gave her the addy, and offered to take her by the church on our way back to the dealership so she would know where it was.
We drove into the parking lot (she noticed the spaces reserved for first time visitors) and we went inside. As it happened they were getting ready for a funeral, so i showed her around inside the building. On our way out thru the lobby she had a chance to meet our pastor who greeted her warmly, and answered a few questions on service times for her. As we were walking back to the car she remarked that she was definitely comming tomorrow, and that our pastor was very warm and friendly in person.
the end of the story is that i did get the new car, but more importantly she has seen the hand of God at work in her life, leading her to this encounter where she can find a place to connect again with God, and with other Christians. HALLELUIA!!!!

In fond memory of the Relaxation and Culture team, and it's hard-working staff. Jan-July, 2009 R.I.P.
Beautiful story. Thanks for sharing. I have just ordered a case full of pens with our churches number and website on, and I was having second thoughts about if they were worth it, but clearly so.
Blessings,
Ben

Hallelujah! I pray the Lord speaks to her on where her church home is. I'd say you were in the right place at the right time, Pam.

Second, practice your religion without adulterating it or toning it down. Third, emphasize love and make it your working force, for love is central in Christianity. Fourth, study the non-Christian religions more sympathetically to find the good that is within them in order to have a more sympathetic approach to the people.”
