What province would be best for job hunting in the computer market? I want to live somewhere moderately cheap that doesn't have totally brutal winters. Suburban maybe, I don't want to feel as if I am in the middle of nowhere but I don't want to live downtown in a major city. Any ideas are welcome as this is just thinking for the future. Thanks

The best places for that sort of thing would probably be Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver, just because they are the biggest. Montreal is generally cheaper, but gets full-on winters. Toronto is both expensive and wintery. Vancouver is expensive, but has a better climate. Although, since you mention the suburbs, living in the areas around Vancouver is cheaper than living in Vancouver proper. And if you can get a place close to the Skytrain, getting into the city is pretty easy.
Your social interests would also come into play, as the three cities have very different personalities. Personally, I prefer the Vancouver area for living, but miss the feel of the city that is Montreal. Toronto, I don't much care for.
There are other cities where you could probably make do, and they will be much cheaper. Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Ottawa... But they also have the most extreme winters.
If climate is more important than the cost of living, then Vancouver is your best bet. If costs are more important than climate, well, then you have a few places to choose from.

How would you describe the cities personalities?
