Post-charismatic, as far as I know are people who believe in the gifts of the spirit, but have moved on past some of the extremes and excesses they have seen within the pentecostal/charismatic/wof movement.
You and I were sharing in the main forum about some of the mess we have seen in the UK pentecostal churches, you shared that you were pioneering a church ' to a different drumbeat' within WOF. That makes you post-something. The post charismatic people are looking for charismatic in the sense of spirit filled but to a different drum beat from what they have seen.
I dont think there is much difference between you and some of them, they stand on the promises of God, believe in the gifts, but reject some of the extremes they have soon, as i gather you do too!
I think you hit the nail on the head, which is why it doesn't make sense for their to be such a gulf of division and hostility. Makes me sad.

eh, depends, it seems that now they are intermingling, almost as if the post-charismatic movement is absorbing itself into the emerging church. It's confusing.

What saddens me is the misunderstang that the "gifts" are somehow related to the benefitting the believer -rather than the person the believer is ministering to. Jesus understood this profound will of the Father and I am sure glad we have wofers around today who understand it also.

I also hope that whatever post-charismatics think they are adults know that they are probably enjoying their adulthood at the expense of child-like faith. .

EXACTLY! This really is the core difference. The whole not knowing the will of God for your life.......does HE want you healed or not, does HE want you poor or not, does HE want you to suffer or not.

For anyone interested, there's an excellent book out there on the issue that may bless others...which one can go online and look it up--under the title .known as Post-charismatic?: Where are We Now? Where Have We Come From? Where are We Going?
