Reps: 120,559,119,940,115,024 (power: 120,559,119,940,118) | | | The Chessmaster 10th Edition DVD chess game (PC and I think MAC) is a few years old now (meaning it is cheap and easy to find used on eBay or half or Amazon etc.)
It includes a VERY good beginners regiment and board-with-text+voice guidance on LOTS AND LOTS of topics. I recommend it if you want a game for PC that will move you past the beginner stage into more intermediate-topics and beyond. It has A LOT of stuff. |

Unless you're really serious into chess, avoid "How to win with .... opening" books. You will either left hanging as what to do next or the game is won because the opponent made an epic error. |
