Don Imus found that calling girls nappy headed hos jokingly was off the table for the airwaves and soon we will see if David Letterman will find that the rape of a child is as well. Letterman was clearly talking about a specific game, a specific inning and a specific player involved in the ravaging of a 14-year-old girls, the girl in attendance at that game.
It’s difficult to understand the CF posters that can’t see it as bad. Limbaugh calling Chelsea Clinton a dog was just terrible and he should have been off the air for 6 months just as Letterman should be.
Agree with TheNewWorldMan, attention seekers should always be taken lightly. Politicians and TV personalities make a career out of attention seeking, and they obviously do it well. It's beneficial for both of them to start a feud, bad press is better than no press.

As if this makes a difference. Her older daughter is all of 18, so I suppose your point is that jokes about forced sex with an 18 year old are appropriate.

This quote attributed to Limbaugh is disinformation at best, a lie at worst. In 1993 columnist Molly Ivins made the report that Rush insulted Chelsea Clinton on his television show.

Rush apologized several times and told a story about how he had learned early in his career the importance of not making fun of someone’s appearance. He then apologized again and said I’m– I hope you will forgive me. I’m fatigued. I’m tired…
Before breaking to a commercial, Rush asked the audience what he could do to make amends for the incident and, in an odd, spontaneous joke, proceeded to spank himself.
Was Rush trying to make the most of a mistake, or was the whole thing scripted—apologies and all? The fact that Franken had to use a fake version of events to argue his case tells us a lot. The real version has Rush talking about a “cute dog” as well as a “cute kid,” obviously not a set-up for calling the kid a dog.
It is not an assault on Chelsea, as her picture only comes up in the context of correcting the error.
And even the story as Ivins and Franken told it were true, which it isn’t, how would this justify Letterman’s actions?
Oh, and on another thread somewhere, someone asked for an example of when Al Franken ever lied about anything. The same link above offers evidence of that.

You could care less to watch him yet care enough to call him and old angry simple-minded pervert? If you really did not care I suppose you would have made no comment instead of a serious attack on the man, but that is just my opinion. What does a Chaplain do around here anyways?
