Proverbs 28:9 He who turns away his ear from listening to the law,
Even his prayer is an abomination. NASB
I thought about what an insult to the Lord it must be to pay no attention to what He says, and then expect Him to pay attention to us when we ask of Him. That is downright rude!
Really, how would I feel if I were speaking to my beloved children and they weren't listening? I can tell you exactly how I'd feel first hand. It's awful to have to keep repeating myself, to the point of exasperation if I'm not able to get their attention. I don't like it when they nod their heads with their mp3 players in their ears and completely miss what I said. How do I know they missed it? Because they haven't done what I asked of them. Nor have they always acknowledged my love for them but their ears were dull of hearing and they turned away without returning my love.
Is this not a picture of rebellious Israel? Could it be us, His beloved bride? No. His bride fully respects Him and loves Him. She is without blemish, washed in his own blood. However, we are warned of this in Hebrews....
Hebrews 2:1 We must therefore pay even more attention to what we have heard, so that we will not drift away. HCSB
Is there really a possibility of our drifting away? I would give an emphatic 'yes' as an answer, else we wouldn't be given this admonition.
That's a side issue, free of charge.
Let's turn this around. Let's get a picture of His awaiting bride, waiting with oil in her lamp, for her Beloved could come at any time. She is giving her full attention daily to Him, and has an open ear at every hour. How does He respond to such a one who asks of Him?
John 15:7 But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted! NLT
I am purposing in my heart to give attention to His Word, much closer attention, my full attention, treasuring His Words and laying them up in my heart. This honors Him. When we give Him this place in our heart, that only he should have we become one with Him, and hears us. We have His heart, and He has ours.
The Lord bless each one of you.

Second, practice your religion without adulterating it or toning it down. Third, emphasize love and make it your working force, for love is central in Christianity. Fourth, study the non-Christian religions more sympathetically to find the good that is within them in order to have a more sympathetic approach to the people.”

HIS WORD is life to us and health to all our flesh.. without HIS daily WORD we have no peace.. joy.. or direction.. we have no confidence.. and hope for our future.. We are easily knocked down.. and helpless.. Praise GOD for our SAVIOUR who is with us every day.. and speaking to us at all times...
GOD bless you too Cindy..

And so we fix our gaze on Jesus. We keep our eyes on His Word.
Proverbs 4:20 My son, pay attention to my words;
listen closely to my sayings. 21 Don't lose sight of them;
keep them within your heart. 22 For they are life to those who find them,
and health to one's whole body. 23 Guard your heart above all else,
for it is the source of life. 24 Don't let your mouth speak dishonestly,
and don't let your lips talk deviously. 25 Let your eyes look forward;
fix your gaze straight ahead. 26 Carefully consider the path for your feet,
and all your ways will be established. 27 Don't turn to the right or to the left;
keep your feet away from evil.

Is. 60:1-2 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
