About aromas.. to the other side.. my hubby has taken to drinking alcohol more.. and I commented to him last night.. that when he was drinking.. and he drinks the Top Shelve spirits.. that i could smell the alcohol very much even in this room where I was.. He being in another room.. And funny that Whiskey is actually called Spirits isn't it! Do you think there is an evil spirit associated with that? Sometimes I am sure the same smell just comes from nowhere and hovers.. while he is sleeping sometimes it does that.. He sleeps on the floor if he has been drinking because he is respectful of me.. and breathing that "stuff" into my face..
Sorry this is not encouraging stuff.. but one of the reason I don't drink at all.. and seemed to fit with the smells.. aroma posts..
It's okay. We know what to pray for. My heart goes out to you....and prayer him, that the blinders be removed, that he would open his eyes and ears to the Lord. May God do a deep work in him. Keeping you in prayer too, as always.

It sounds like he is considerate of you, I have the same problem with my wifes smoking, but she does smoke outside, but it stinks
Lord, right now, we bind addictions in there lives and we loosen the power of the Holy Spirit on them to break the chains of addictions, and God, give them desire to seek you with all there heart, in Jesus name, amen

When I read your post here, it brought tears to my eyes to read of your husband choosing to sleep on the floor out of respect for you...tears that come from the perception of the man's sweetness and yet the scenario is so unnecessary.
I will pray for you and your husband's overcoming of this thing. His place is beside you...every night.

Amen and amen! Jesus loves Justin with an everlasting love. If we could only comprehend a little of it, we would just run to His waiting arms! That is my prayer for Justin--that the Holy Spirit will break through with the reality of the man Jesus and His great solid love for him that can lift him up out of the mire and onto his feet with such acceptance that he can hardly stand up again!
I haven't been able to be here as much. Still homeschooling, caring for the household affairs and now on the brink of starting a job in addition. I will be here much less, maybe not at all. I will be earning maybe a 1/3 of what hubby did, which was a little short of what we needed. But at least it is a start. I obey the Lord today, and one thing leads to another. Who knows where I'll be by the end of the year?

If we veer form our first love it becomes much more easy for the devil to deceive us. In the day we live we must watch that we be not deceived. How do we do this? By simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ.

This morning's report shows Hannah is steering more to the east. That's good because it is a very large storm extending some 200 something miles from the center. We are forecast to have tropical storm force winds. Hubby boarded a few windows yesterday. I think it is needless, and now it is fairly dark in those rooms. Living in a cave. Hmph. No fun. But the main windows are still open. Forecasters say Ike is the one to watch carefully and will be a player Sunday or Monday.
We do not have a beachfront home, but our city is on the coast. I estimate we are only 5 mi. inland, nothing to speak of in terms of wind speed, but we aren't affected personally by beach erosion, which is already occurring. The waves have been outrageous the past few days with Hannah out there. It costs the state millions to bring in sand for the beaches. It also washes aways boardwalks at times and necessary vegetation that grows along the coast. And the sea turtle nests.........awwww, they must be ruined. How sad. Sadder still is the people who rode out Hannah on their roofs, rain being driven sideways. How awful. Having been through quite a few hurricanes I can't even imagine being outside in it. Hours and hours, nothing to drink. No rest. Children crying. Oh, the misery. Losing everything they own, what little that is. I'm crying now.
I pray for them to be comforted in the Lord, both in mind and body, that every provision be made to them. Above all, I pray they receive Jesus as Lord and Savior.
I stand upon His Word for our safety and provision. The Lord will keep His promises to you dearly beloved, whatever you are believing in Him. Psalm 12:6 The words of the LORD are pure words;
As silver tried in a furnace on the earth, refined seven times.
Isaiah 32:17 The work of righteousness will be peace,
And the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever.
