I wasn't aware that the Seeker's icon was for a group with specific beliefs. I thought it was for people questioning, say, the faith they grew up in and were looking for a better match. Like, if someone grew up Baptist and decided that they hold beliefs more suitable to the Catholic church, they would carry a seeker's icon till they had studied and found where God was leading them.

Maybe we can get an advisor's input here, because if the seeker's icon is for a group with a specific theology, then we need to know that.

Love

Simply look at the icons now ...

there is an icon for 'seekers' and an icon for 'Seekers' ... sadly there is no explanation , but we had to fight for this to be allowed to say who we are !!!! ... one is labelled Christian-Seeekers which I am hoping is the one for Seekers ... the site never made this clear which is which ...

Here is some sadly rather limited info on the faith , somewhat linked for some in some limited ways with Quakerism

Seekers - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I will set to writing a better statement of faith once we have somewhere to commune and discuss its wording in detail , using the scripture alone [no non-scriptural 'doctrines' or 'dogmas' are allowed for Seekers]

anyway it was a long fight to get recognition [which is itself a travesty and an insult to Christ], but now we need a slot to commune in please, like everyone else !

Bizarre enough that one even has to ask, let alone have to fight a wall of secular pagan-based bureaucracy to be allowed to commune here in Christ and the word of God ! That is what our world has come to ...Christians persecuting Christians and abusing Christ by preferring bureaucracy to love [from our God-given heart of love] of fellow man.

So many people forgotten that Christ is ALL about loving EVERONE ,and especially one's brothers and sisters in Christ

The Christian seeker icon at CF is for those who are 'seeking' as in what denomination or church they will align with. It was not meant to be an icon for group from long ago.

As those Seekers may have been the pecursors to the Quakers, perhaps the Anabaptist forum would fit.

However, if you feel a congregational home is needed, you can ask in the Suggestions and Complaints Box. It is the Advisors and the owner who decide if a congregational forum can be added. They will want more than one member of that congregation though. I doubt that others who are using the Christian seeker icon are connected with that group described in Wikipedia.

Can you find a way to make it cear wjhich icon is for seekers and which for Seekers , the current situation is so ambiguous that I and even staff do not know which is which nor what the difference is ,nor who Seekers are .

In fact Christians do NOT have to seek a 'denomination' or cult to follow Christ , rather Jesus explains that there will be only 144,000 saints of israel who follow him in this life [Rev 7:3-8], the few who go by the narrow strait way [Matt 7:14] ... so one would be well advised not to follow a congregation of sinners instead of the saints of God if one wants to follow Christ ... what point learning to accept being a sinner if one wants to follow Christ ?

1 John 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

2 Timothy 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

One can of course follow the masses of modern divided religion of sinners on the basis of a sort of 'herd instinct' of 'ecurity in numbers' or 'normmality' ... and countless many gentiles are afterward saved [Rev 7:9-10] , but we also know that the many go by the broad way of destruction in the nedof the earth , nott the narrow way of following Christ in this life ...

in short one is not a saint if one continues to sin, and sinners follow Satan, saints follow Christ ... so joining the many is an option for salvation after the Millenium but alows one to die a sinner in this life, which most find the only possible way in this life [hence mass religion of sinners led by divided sinners, not the one truth of God and Jesus] :-

Revelation 20:5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished.

So the scripture shows one should not join a mass denomination if one wants to follow Jesus now , there can only be on average a couple of thousand saints alive in the earthat any one time , and they on a task set by Jesus t find the House of israel scattered amongst all nations, they can hardly congregate much any more but must be scattered all over the world by now in their holy task as followers of the Christ :-

Matthew 10:6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the House of Israel.

Matthew 15:24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the House of Israel.

Acts 2:36 Therefore let all the House of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

The new covenant is with the House of Israel , those whose fathers broke the old covenant :-

Hebrews 8:8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the House of Israel and with the House of Judah:
9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
Hebrews 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the House of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

Jesus is rather definitive about the masses too [Rev 13:3-10] that all the world as sinners will worship the image of a saviour set up by Satan , not the true Christ, messiah come to re-unite Israel as the holy nation God now has forgiven , so that they may in turn minister to billions as priests and kings later in the kingdom [after the Millenium then ]

Looking for a church board != Seeker board

We may not have the same beliefs but it is a neutral ground area where we should be allowed to discuss and compare (not really debate, that's more a GT thing) different churches and denominations and see which fit us best. I support this idea.

Excellent ... will get back to you when we are getting started with a slot ...still some bureaucracy to get through ...

Seekers are open to reproof from scripture in attempt to follow every word of God :-

2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Luke 4:4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

2 Peter 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
