reiki

Hi, I'm new here. I've been searching for like-minded people to help me figure out something. I hope I've come to the right place!

Does anybody here know anything about reiki? I have a friend who just told me she's a level 2 practitioner. This bums me out so bad. From what I've read it really sounds cult-like. Does anybody here know anything about it or have the time to read up and provide insight? Particularly where it tries to say that reiki aligns with Christianity.

Alright, according to this chart (and this is my personal belief) I don't believe in being slain in the Spirit as in people falling over in convelsions or acting like animals.

The uncontrolable laughing that could and in most cases is a sign of being filled with the Holy Spirit.

The smelling of fregrances never heard of this accept when Todd Bently and his guys talked of it, and it was used in astrial projection (I believe was the word) which is use in cults today....we do not believe in this. The only fregrances we smell are the ones to which we creat.

The only thing devine about our leaders is that A. they believe in God B. they are ordained (got their pastorial degree) and C. Have been filled with the Holy Spirit.

Yep revival happens, but satan also mimics the real thing so even witches can have "revival" guess it just depends on whom you serve.

Anyways Im done toying with this. Christians/Pentecostles whatever you want to call us believe in the Word of God. If its not in the Word than its simply not true. By this example, you can say Christ is like Satan....when in actuality Christ is clearly the opposite of satan. Satan simply copies and imitates Christ.

Im at best offended and discusted with this link and the implications of it.

I didn't mean to offend you and greatly apologize for causing a disturbance. I'm a devout reader and study Calvinism (as well as other beliefs) and at the same site (an earlier rejected link), its very much against Calvinism but it ~doesn't~ offend me at all due to spiritual strengths. It talks about Calvinistic denomination as well as the Pentecostal denomination of this forum's section. I didn't post this as a debater nor a troll. I posted this message because of my interest "Calvinistic Pentecostalism". I have to strong interest in combining to two together. Instead of going against me, I would really appreciate sincere conversations on difficult subjects. This conversation relates to Reiki and this type of question from the original poster of this topic calls for a strong serious "best" answer and I trust the Lord to guide all readers to respond and teach me about Spiritual things of God. Or otherwise, I might choose the wrong road cause you didn't try.

I appreciate your honest reply. I practice all kinds of things such as Tai chi, Reiki, Qigong, Modern healing of the minds, Tricks of the minds, Christianity, Christian Scientists and many other things that many call cults. I hated that link as well. I've read many bad beliefs that the devil is in most of my practices. I deeply struggle to chose the right road and I love all different types of denominations and find them very different. I'm having extreme difficulty in convincing Tai chi, Martial artists, and other strange healers the ways of the Lord and I strongly believe that the faith in King David during his battle with Goliath was strong and lead by God. I believe theres a language barrier with the Chinese, Japanese, Asians and many other countries and I hope to bring the Bible into these extreme beliefs and help them understand the things of our Lord. Byhisstripes, I hope you'll help me bring the Gospel into difficult beliefs of other countries. It's very hard to find believers to challenge the cults like Kind David did to Goliath. I'm up to the Challenge like King David. Praise be the Lord. Whose with me?

There are better qualified than I to help you with this joining you hope to achieve ... my job is the Truth. I trust the Holy Spirit moved me. There is nothing more for me to say. I said what I believe. It's nothing personal to you. It simply doesn't line up with scripture ... truth is Truth. The Word isn't debateable. I try to always defend the Truth ... this is no different ...

Just several days ago a thirteen year old boy came here asking questions. I try to remember things like he might still be reading this forum ... the place I would be negligent in is letting the truth left unsaid ... the young are very easily lead astray ... intentionally or not ... I could have left out the offense part, I suppose ... however, it's how I felt for the Lord ... our Lord and Saviour deserves respect ... there is no level "playing field" with man ...

Where were we?
Back back to Rieki. I think Rieki has some good point's that might help healing. Some have cancer and some are on the verge of a bad situation and ask such questions about alternative health. The replies here on this topic is not to bring confusion but the best answer to the original poster. We'll need to learn a little about Rieki before we determine if it lines up with the Scriptures. lilmissmontana has said her peace ( and we still appreciate her contributions) and this reply are for others who might like to further continue this topic on Rieki.

And God has better points that doesn't just help healing but does actually heal . why turn to an alternative when you Have Christ the great healer? The greatest physician you could ever hope for?

Let's be perfectly clear in the fact that I never once said reiki didn't line up ... I said the two statements you made that you believed didn't line up with scripture ... back to the truth ...
