Our brothers and sisters would have infinitely more safety, economic opportunity, freedom to worship, and political freedom under Israeli "occupation" than they would under any other prevalent Islamic governmental structure (which range from despotism to autocracy with a smile). Therefore, it would be most logical for us to pray for expansion of Israel, no?
No, they don't. You obviously don't know any Christian who lives there. I actually do. Israel is no friend or help to them, I guarantee you that. They have very few freedoms. It is logical to pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ, yet you're not willing to doing that, apparently. The only logical prayer one should have for the secular state of Israel is for them to come to Christ. You didn't even read the National Geographic article did you? It's obvious.
Lord, have mercy!

Commanders of the heavenly hosts, we who are unworthy beseech you, by your prayers encompass us beneath the wings of your immaterial glory, and faithfully preserve us who fall down and cry to you: “Deliver us from all harm, for you are the commanders of the powers on high!”
Holy Archangel Michael, pray to God for me. "Why do you increase your bonds? Take hold of your life before your light grows dark and you seek help and do not find it. This life has been given to you for repentance; do not waste it in vain pursuits."~St. Isaac the Syrian To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. I guess to them any brown skined person might as well be a muslim terrorist. |

Though I am a critic of Israel, I am no less critical of their enemies and some of the enemies of Israel will never settle for peace. Israel, like any nation, will try to preserve its people and will also cause innocent people to suffer in doing so as innocent Israelis are often victims of the terrorism of their adversaries. |

Neither muslims nor christians are persecuted since the modern state of Israel is like all the western countries...(moral decline inclusive...)
However...the Hamas oppresses, persecutes, kills christians...independent from the conflict with Israel. |

And if there's one thing that's completely pointless, it's preferring the terror-anarchy of terrorist rule (PA, Hamas, Fatah) over the "occupation" of Israel. It is worth noting that the "occupation" of Israel produced jobs, irrigated the desert, and brought a stability that the people there had scarcely known. Now, all that is gone, thanks to the Muslim claims of "occupation", and made-up lies about Israeli atrocities.

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas blamed Israel for the emigration of Palestinian Christians, but researchers say the reasons for the declining numbers of Christians in the place of Jesus’ birth are considerably more complex.
Religious intolerance, expanding Islamic radicalism and P.A. harassment are cited as “push” factors, along with economic hardship and unemployment attributed in part to security closures that affect the important tourism industry. “Pull” factors include the existence of flourishing communities in the diaspora, easing assimilation.

Obviously, when it comes to certain groups of people, people around here will make excuses not to pray for them? That's sure what it seems like. Take the political garbage elsewhere. Don't come to a thread on a board regarding Christian persecution and try to start an argument. Pray!
After all, if it were you in their shoes, you'd want people to pray for you!
