This site goes on to say how channeling your inner energy is opening the doors to the demonic
and here is a quote from another site:
Spirits behind Karate (including spirits of mind control) - The person is offered an 'out of this world' means of defending them self that the average person does not have. When a person begins to seek this power found in martial arts, they are welcoming spirits of mind control and such to come in and make themselves at home.
When a person breaks a board with their hand, there is an evil spirit that goes ahead of their hand and breaks the board before their skin even touches the board! If you take a macro slow motion video of a young boy breaking a 2x4 in half, you will eye-witness this fact. The same spirits will cause a person to be able to strike a seriously harmful blow to somebody else's body, and do far more than more than a mere physical blow would do the person. That is because evil spirits are involved. One time a man came to Christ after earning a high level ranking in karate, and not long afterwards, his karate instructor said to him, "You have lost the spirit of karate!"
that is from: greatbiblestudy dot com slash opening underscor e demonic underscore dot php
So hmmmm.....interesting stuff there, huh? Especially the evil spirit that goes before you in karate to break stuff for you!
So what do you all think? I know we got some martial arts people on here.....so how have you been dealing with these demons?

In all honesty, I believe this is probably one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard.
My fiancee is very involved with martial arts and I can reassure any doubters that he is not demon possessed!

| | | | I don't believe Christians can be demon possesed... If the Holy Spirit is indwelling the believer no demon can overcome God...
I believe discipline and exercise are good things...
I have broken a board with my hand and it's not Spiritual... really... It is a focused, disciplined, physical strike that if done correctly breaks the board with no physical damage, but there is definite physical contact...

Some may judge and say that he was never a Christian, but he was.
Anyway, it is not good to expose oneself to temptation. I was taking karate and had earned my green belt, but I became very uncomfortable when some gnostics came into the dojo and started sharing their beliefs. Their leader wanted all the members of that gnostic set to earn their black belt and get that "chi" power. It seemed so self-centered and prideful. In addition, our sensa would do these weird movements over us like a prayer while he told us to meditate with our eyes closed. It just did not seem Christian but more of a pagan practice. I realized then and there that I had to make a choice: the chi power or God.
I chose God and left.

I don't like the pain. In fact, my muscles tend to cramp very easily and taking on yoga would be sadistic.

I am not involved in any of the martial arts disciplines. Yet it seems the OP thinks I am demon possesed! Breaking the boards that are typicaally used in Karate is easy. Just a matter of power.
As far as I have seen breaking boards, and all the rest is not a matter of some 'magic' force. It is the result of practice and training. |

What about the "Chi" power that Eastern monks (from China) display when harmful things bounce off their aurora without harming them. What is behind that force? Or is that some kind of magic?

Its nothing more than very well trained, very focused individuals performing an extreme discipline. They may look supernatural, but really, they aren';t any more supernatural than the feats achieved by Olympic athletes. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | | | |
