I will be taking the laptop to bed with me VW. My wife is working night shifts and I sit and read until I fall asleep while listening to Chris Tomlinson sing and Bob Yandian preach.
Blessings,
Ben
Your an amazing man Zzub. Anyway, what did you think of the pamphlet, you being an educated man and all

I haven't read it yet - I was a lot less amazing than you think I was because Burn Notice started again and I watched that instead. I will read it probably Monday, and give my views.
Blessings,
Ben

Good post, VW. This is something that is vital to take into consideration when reading the Word.
__________________ When one asked a leader of a Hindu nation what would cause them to move towards Christianity he responded with great clarity and directness, “First, I would suggest all you Christians, missionaries and all, must begin to live more like Jesus Christ. Second, practice your religion without adulterating it or toning it down. Third, emphasize love and make it your working force, for love is central in Christianity. Fourth, study the non-Christian religions more sympathetically to find the good that is within them in order to have a more sympathetic approach to the people.”
Thanks Cindy. The more I research the more verification I seem to be getting that the Old Tesatement was written in a way that only has God permitting certain acts rather than Him being the direct cause of them.

While doing some more research online, I found a booklet by Dr. Dowie in which he actually wrote extensively on this. The pamphlet is titled "Permission and Commission" and is available for download in .pdf format (Just click on the title that I turned into a link).
On page 8 of the booklet he cites Dr. Robert Young (proving that Hagin actually didn't "miss it" on this after all). Thank God for the internet. It is making more and more info available on this subject - and also vindicating the character of God while enhancing the faith of the believer to trust Him for healing, deliverance, and other blessings of the gospel.
P.S. The .pdf is password protected and cannot be copied, printed, or converted.
Just read it this evening, vw. Absolutely one of the best pamphlets I have ever read, thanks so much for sharing. The examination of the word chastening was the most enlightening part, but there were so many ideas and thoughts expressed so simply and Biblically I was blessed a great deal.
Thanks so much, I am off to sleep now - early shift tomorrow
Blessings,
Ben

Thanks Zzub. As you know I always respect and value your opinion. Dowie had his issues, like all of us, but I think he did well here.

I think the reason Dowie had the issues he had and ended up the way he did was simply because there was no-one else out there in his generation doing what he was doing. He had no-one he could bounce ideas off of.
Thanks for your kind words.
Blessings,
Ben
