Look at what's going on in Africa...
Could the purpose of this video be to arouse the anger of Muslims and then cries of jihad against Christians?
Is there a Christian who understands Arabic?
However, it is true that Muslims around the world are receiving visions and having dreams of Christ. I talked with a woman who had such a vision of Christ. She was having nightmares and begged Christ to come to her and set her free from her fears. She asked to see a paper Icon of Christ which I carried and then pleaded for me to give it to her. She was in tears as she described her dream of a man knocking at her door and she opened the door and saw Christ and His glory filling the room with Holy Light. She then slept very soundly and woke up refreshed.

During easiest of times is when we lose our faith, or tend to. During times of struggle, and hardship, then we see our faith grow. What I see happening during these times are the protestant churches changing, and trying to adapt, "to a modern world." Of course this really does not work. They are the ones in danger of breaking up, and losing their ground in Christ. While the Orthodox may have some problems, we need to pray, and remain true to our faith, and these will be resolved in time.

IMO, I think that the church (all Christians) needs to return to humility and servitude. Christ never used force to teach, but He did teach about how a Christian should act. One of His last acts as a free person was to wash the feet of His disciples, the ones He chose to be His students.
I think it's time that we, as the body of Christ, need to show His love and patience, and not treat muslims like third world trash. Islam is not a Borg mentality, but it is alot more focused on their basic beliefs than the average Christian. Many devout muslims lead comfortable middle class lives, are well schooled, and want the same for their children as we do, a future lived by their faith.
Sorry if I overstepped my boundaries by posting this, but I do feel strongly about the witness we project.

I don't think you've said anything here that we as Orthodox Christians would not agree with.
It is only in humility and submission to Christ, in acquiring the Holy Spirit, that we and others will be saved.
Mary

This is very true. Islamisation becomes a threat only because “we” have abandoned our faith. The West is so spiritually dead that has probably no other solution rather than return to the tradition (Orthodoxy) or become Muslim; or of course cease to exist. So in that matter the Serbian proverb: "Whenever Christians didn't want to be brothers among themselves, a Muslim was their master" may indeed one day become the case, at least for Europe (minus Russia).

The do not have any concept of God being love, as we do. Love is the highest good. It is the reason that our God is merciful and just. These latter two virtues are secondary virtues, that only exist because of the reality that God is love. Allah is lacking that fundamental characteristic of the true living God--only copying mercy and justice to some degree, but not existing as love itself.
Our hope is that Islam will implode, because it violates basic rights human have been given by the true God, because it lacks true love and mercy, and because it fails to illumine the true path to healing, for which all men spiritually long. |

Islam is the fastest growing faith in the west, Christianity is making roads in Africa and Asia. The video is designed to raise a red flag for Muslim, they want to mobilize Muslim to do something about the spread of Christianity in Africa, so they blow figures out of proportion and present the facts in a misleading way to have a shocking effect.
Fr. George Dargas of the Holy Cross seminary in Brookline came once to my church and said "We can't afford but Unity, We can't witness with a divided Church"
I agree with bishop Lazarus that we need a united front, to witness to out Children and to the world. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | | | |
