It's a 400 page book of Bible promises arranged by topic, in the NKJV. |

It certainly is making me ponder a few things though. Have a biography on Smith Wigglesworth lined up next. |

It's about two 'poor, brave women courageously fighting against sickness' and facing a hopeless future, and then God started speaking with them when they were together. ('For where two or three are gathered in my name there am I in the midst of them'.) It became a Daily Devotional with some very striking teachings and Biblical insights. Very inspirational. I've got the 'Destined to Reign Devotional' by same! It's very inspirational, and definitely worth having - if only to take a peek every now and then. Of course, I started out reading it everyday and as with all good intentions, well, it just sits there now looking good...LOL |

Shalom Interesting point of view. Not one that is Biblical, though. The cloak that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou comest, bring with thee, and the books, but especially the parchments. – 2 Timothy 4.13
Imagine if the great apostle Paul liked to read, that it is a habit all good Christians should be involved in. The wonder of God putting teachers in the church (Ephesians 4.11) means that we can all benefit from good Christian literature.
I am currently reading a book by Kenneth Hagin called tongues. I don't think any of the information is new to me, in fact he says on one page of the book something I have said and preached for years and never heard anyone ever say. Do you know what - that is benefical and encouraging to me. That helps me realize I am not a lone ranger Christian, but part of a body of Christ.
It always disturbs me when anyone does anything anti-intellectual and anti-rational. Burning books is a prime example - unless they are occult books, that is rational and intellectual.
Blessings,
Ben
