Personally, I am strongly against this. I heard on another thread about this that the couple was questioned in a way that their religion was even being questioned. Questions such as "Do you pray in these meetings?" and "Do you sing hymns?" were asked. To me, that clearly shows a bias against religion by the police officers in question. This was clearly unconstitutional.

Given the vague identification of the person asking the questions, I do not trust those reports.
They shouldn't be allowed to ask if they pray in the meetings but they should be allowed to state whether there is certain criteria not being met. I mean its none of your business IMO if I pray or sing hymns in my house. It is however the police officer's job if someone is causing a problem with parking violations/etc....

To me that says they were trying to determine if they were basically running a church out of their home...
The problem here is that it was not their Bible study meeting that they were in trouble over, it was how they all were parking. Give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and give to God what belongs to God.
This group was not very smart, they should have done what our Bible study group does...
There is about 4 to 6 couples involved in a Catholic bible study. Each week, we go to one of the couple's homes to study. The Bible study programs only last about 6 months. So, when you break that down, there is a bible study meeting at each home approximately once a month or less.
I think otherwise, they would have been a problem with even our own ordinances here at home.
Laws are laws and these laws are not meant to oppress Christians, but to keep peace and civility among communities.

Where Peter is, there is the Church. Where the Church is, there is eternal Life.
"The so-called right to abortion has pitted mothers against their children and women against men. It has sown violence and discord at the heart of the most intimate human relationships. It has aggravated the derogation of the father's role in an increasingly fatherless society"- Mother Theresa
"But I feel that the greatest destroyer of peace today is abortion, because it is a war against the child - a direct killing of the innocent child - murder by the mother herself. And if we accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another? How do we persuade a woman not to have an abortion?
As always, we must persuade her with love, and we remind ourselves that love means to be willing to give until it hurts. Jesus gave even his life to love us. So the mother who is thinking of abortion, should be helped to love - that is, to give until it hurts... her plans, or her free time, to respect the life of her child. The father of that child, whoever he is, must also give until it hurts. By abortion, the mother does not learn to love, but kills even her own child to solve her problems.
And by abortion, the father is told that he does not have to take any responsibility at all for the child he has brought into the world. That father is likely to put other women into the same trouble. So abortion just leads to more abortion. Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching the people to love, but to use any violence to get what they want. That is why the greatest destroyer of love and peace is abortion". - Mother Theresa
Type of faith? I was unaware there were "types". Eph 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism.
Tell the victims of Koresh and Jones that cult just doesn't matter. It most certainly does matter. Fringe and radical fundamentalism is a blight to Christianity because its, well, not Christian.
It's just slippery in general. There have been no indications of any kind yet that they are associated at all with a cult, just home bible study.
We need to be aware of cults but that's not to say every group study should be interviewed by the police to rule cults out, either. It should not be law enforcements jobs to agree or disagree with bible study among adults.
Also, a church I was about to visit this morning, but then went to another instead...they have five womens groups because they are a large church. One is led by a woman who has the womens fellowship at her home twice a month. It's from the church but at her physical property. It's really not uncommon for groups of Christians to meet at home for bible study groups.
My mother is the GM at our local Dennys. They have three bible groups that attend there, used to be more. One is ran by a pastor who has a group of around 20 people and they do not have a church building of their own yet. They meet Wednesdays at Dennys to have discussion, and I know Bob Evans restaurant has the same thing as one of the groups moved over to there. They have room for parking so the current complaint isnt an issue, but it can become an issue if the county starts insisting a certain thing must be purchased before Christians can meet outside a church when they form into groups.

"You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing to you and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever." - Psalm 30:10-12
CNN Reports On Kid Farting On a Bus in Florida {Really}
I remember reading about this in the local paper (Floridian here) I'm not amazed it was news; it was news because it was so amazing. The kid was actually suspended from school because of passing gas on the bus, and the father became enraged over that fact (for good reason) People

I read in the news that an apology has been given to the Christian couple, and they were told that there never should have been any charges against them in the first place. Looks like the police were bias for some reason.
Does anyone have a link to the latest news report regarding this matter?
