New age- is looking for an experience- be it spiritual- i.e wrong kind of spiirit
Whereas out of reklationship knowing Jesus we have experiences of a Spritual kind as we engage with the Holy Spirit who indwells us.

Twiggy, I just have to respond to some things that you have said. I was once ensnared by New Age beliefs. Thankfully, I truly was already a Christian at the time. I was seeking to fully know who Jesus Christ was. I wanted Him to be tangible in my life. At the same time, I was very confused about spiritual gifts. New Age beliefs seemed to offer me some answers to Biblical questions that I had about manifestations of gifts and also offered me a community of acceptance that I didn't get at the church I attended. I reasoned that this acceptance and "love" was more akin to Christ-likeness than what I was experiencing from Christians. I reasoned that maybe they just understood God in a different way than I did or than Christians did.
There was always a reference to the light and to love. There was no denial of Jesus' teachings, but there was a plurality of God. Scriptures could be twisted so very nicely to fit these things. Jesus could be a god just like their other gods. Jesus could be the son of god, but lucifer was also the son of god in New Age teaching. They held equal rank in New Age philosophy, neither one good or evil/ just light and darkness, both needed to balance the universe. I was offered that I could still believe in Christ and I would come to know him more fully through these experiences.
The very scripture you cited about love was what confused me the most during this time. I was around people who "loved" me, so how could I say that that did not come from God. That love was a farce. It is true that you cannot have love apart from Christ, but the enemy comes as an angel of light. We see the appearance of love every day when a man and woman sleep together out of wedlock because they are in love. I believe they are in love and that they love one another from a human perspective but this is not divine love. Divine love is different than the "love" that New Agers have or that the world has.
Divine love will always point back to Christ as the source. It will not lead others into temptation or sin. The love that New Agers give is innately indued with the temptation to submit to other gods or to submit to your own power. I have plenty fof riends who "love" me and help me, but are often ignorant that some of the advice they may try to give me is completely ungodly.
I often have friends who will support my decision to not have sex until I am married to a point, but they will also say things like I deserve to be happy, to have those sexual experiences. They don't want me to get into a marriage with someone I have not had sex with and end up having a bad sex life. They tell me these things all in the name of love. They are even confessing Christians. They love me but not with the love of Christ. They have been deceived when it comes to knowing who Christ really is.
So, in conclusion, yes, what this woman believes is plain and simple deception. The enemy is cunning. He isn't going to completely deny the truth. He just perverts it in almost imperceptible ways, which is why we all need discernment. The enemy's sin was one of pride. He wanted to overthrow God. He was made arrogant by his own beauty and he still holds on to that pride today.
Satan is still trying to build a kingdom of his own and he knows God probably better than any of us. He hates God but he does know Him. All that he knows about God, he can pervert and twist and use to deceive those who might believe in the One True Lving God. Satan wants worshippers. He wanted Jesus to bow down at his feet and he wants us to bow down, too. If he can make himself appear as god and gain worshippers he will. If he can get them to believe that they are also gods with innate power within themselves as divine beings, he will.
And all he has to do is twist the relationship of Christ and the Church for that one or cite how we are co-heirs with Christ. It often only takes a slight doorway for the enemy to afford himself the opportunity to deceive us and lead us away from Jesus Christ.
