This latest news article detailing the plans by the Obama administration to place GM into bankruptcy reveals the true intentions of the Obama administration and it's globalist dictatorial 'advisors'. Using the scam of 'bailouts' which is simply worthless money printed out of thin air but used to purchase REAL assets (factories and manufacturing capability) the government is staging a fascist takeover of the economy.
Important aspects of the move are that the government will gain control of the corporation, and have the final say on who is appointed to the board. Rather than allowing a proper 'cleaning up' of the debt problem of the company, it is a fascist takeover, simply reducing the debt and shifting it to the public realm rather than the private realm. Of course the shareholders get wiped out, and the workers must take a severe haircut, but the assets remain under government control so that nobody other than their 'favorites' get a chance to make a profit from them.
This is going to be a model for the systematic takeover of the economy by the hand-picked elites. And there is much more where this came from once the takeover is in place. Only the 'worthy' will be able to work, and eat in the new emerging state run economy once this is fully up and running. Nazism had nothing on these guys!

It is liquidation and selling off the valuable parts to those who DONT have a printing press to just produce money out of thin air to pay the bills, so they need to be smart, frugal managers. Governments have a great record when it comes to managing 'private' corporations, don't they!
Fascism is a very insidious form of authoritarian rule, because it can appear to be 'helping' people as it tightens it's grip ever more until the entire population is enslaved and trapped. The problem with totalitarianism is, if you don't see it coming early it is too late!
Why are Americans so docile today? I thought you were a country that didn't trust big government and your constitution was designed to keep the power in the hands of the citizen. It appears that you are more socialist/fascist than you realize. What about 'give me liberty or give me death!'? Now it's 'give me a bailout and I will do what ever you want!'

Why, then, did GM not pursue it? It held its hand out for government money knowing full well that, far from there being string, there were heavy gauge steel cables attatched.
The decision by the government to try to mitigate the economic dislocation which liquidation would bring may have been a good one, may have been a bad one; but the money was not forced on GM at gunpoint by black uniformed, jackbooted thugs knocking at the door at midnight. Not only did GM take the money, it later asked for more. The other golden rule: He who has the gold; makes the rules. The US government would have ill served its citizens, the ultimate payors, if it had not coupled a degree of control with what's likely going to be all but a gift. Had this been a stock purchase, it would have given the government the same degree of control if not more.
They call it Marxism, I think it's more like fascism, but either way it's the sheeple in slavery to their own addiction to the easy life at the expense of their freedom.
Don't think I am lecturing, the same is happening in my country, but not to the same degree (yet) by far.
