it's a great point if you want to claim the Bible is inspired
by man, not God. That's where that point leads to.
Or it can lead to the point that the Bible was inspired by God but written by men. Feel free to disagree.

Interestingly, we just recently had a girl in the CC forum who used
this exact argument. interesting
Wasn't me... Not very interesting, actually.

You said if God gave a clear, unambiguous sign, people wouldn't recognize it. I believe they could.

You seem to think the Bible and "spelled out doctrine" is better than a "sign." I need only look at the hundreds of Christian denominations, each one reading the same Bible, each one claiming their doctrine is the one "spelled out," to see your position as spurious.

And what sign would He give I wonder that wouldn't be
misread due to bias?
I don't know... but I don't put it past God's ability to do.
Do you think it's beyond His ability?

And since it is, we follow biblical example, not secular minority quotas.
Including your quota?

?? not sure how you connected those dots
It's actually quite simple... God does what He wants, how He wants, regardless of what you think He should do.

How is that made political? Those are MORAL & spiritual sins and we
already know from scripture that God judges nations and will
judge nations in the future. . .
But to punish all of "America" for the sins of a few is to punish the innocent for the crimes of the guilty... a mockery of justice.

I don't recall my post being about YOU in particular or specifically
Perhaps you didn't notice... but I was agreeing with you there.

Well the Bible gives us reasons why people don't understand
scripture - but aside from that, if you can't understand it, then you
can follow early church example or notice what you don't find in
scripture.... female Shepherds.
Maybe that will speak for itself - doubtful, but possible.
I understand it quite well. You?

The Bible is very clear on many important subjects, what I find is that people dislike what they read, so they try to manipulate text to suit a
preference, create strawmen & red herrings to confuse the subject and if they can't do that, they'll just discredit the Bible somehow so that even IF it does say something, it won't apply anyway.
And sometimes, people just plain don't get it.

Be careful, however, that the exercise of your freedom does not become a stumbling block to the weak. For if anyone with a weak conscience sees you who have this knowledge eating in an idol's temple, won't he be emboldened to eat what has been sacrificed to idols? So this weak brother, for whom Christ died, is destroyed by your knowledge.

Legalistic or not, Christ said "If you love me, keep My commandments...He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the father's who send Me." John 14:15, 24

Why do we fight so hard to explain scriptures that are not there and yet ignore the ones that are?

The proof of this is ridiculously simple... seeing as how there's only one God, if what I said above wasn't so, we'd only see one consistent writing style throughout the entirety of the Bible -- God's own words, untainted by human influence.

I submit that nobody can read the Bible and honestly state this is the case... The Bible reflects a variety of themes, genres, and literary styles to reflect a variety of authors... all God-breathed, but each one still in posession of enough freewill to express God's message as they saw fit.

The agenda that it supports is the same throughout scripture, even with the different individual styles of writings. They might have expressed it in their own styles, but that doesn't stop the fact that it was God breathed. And I think the beauty of scripture is that it never shows the man as the ultimate righteousness, it shows the flaws of man, it doesn't try and show that man is righteous apart from God, but each book never contradict the character of God and that is what is truly awesome.

We do see one consistent writing (for it takes about God), but not one consistent style--if God wrote it with His own hands, what guarantees do we have that He wouldn't change up His styles of writing? Is it because we humans are that way, we stick to one style? Are we now going to compare the Creator of the Universe like us? He chose these men to write to us and a way that He wanted to convey, regardless of the styles or themes, His message still gets across.

Oh and by the way, we do have one thing that He specifically wrote--the 10 commandments.
