Your name here is Ave Maria, it is an interesting note that Muhammed rejected Christianity in part because he did not like the role that Mary played, her prominance and her importance.
The blessed mother always points us to her divine Son. Her great wish is that we love him more.
Ah yeah. Thank you for this advice Simon Templar. |

Only Christianity teaches that God loves us enough to die for us. In all other religions, we have to save ourselves, and reach this impossible state of holiness without grace.

Ave Maria,
In June you saw the Lords face in the blessed sacrament and now in August you want to convert to Islam? Doesn't this seem strange to you? I have to ask you how mature you are in your faith walk with Christ and his Holy Catholic church. I mean to see a sign in the blessed sacrament and then do a 360 and want to convert to a false religion(Islam) that denies our Lords Divinity and resurrection and persecutes women seems insane to me. How can this be? |

'So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth.
Ave - I am not being cruel here - I was disturbed when I read you were even considering Islam and I ask the Lord what could I say- this is what He gave me - I waited for an hour or so before posting to see if this was suppose to be posted - I know it sounds cruel - but they are not my words.
You have been an encourager here for a long time and I was shocked to see that you would even consider a false god.
In the Bible the thing that God grew the most angry was people and their false gods.
I pray you will see the light and go back to being the encourager that God wants you to be.</SPAN>

I hate having to explain this to everybody but here goes. I have a disorder known as borderline personality disorder. It causes me to have instability in the way I view myself. Therefore, one minute I can be a faithful Catholic while the next, I can be tempted to join Islam. I hope you understand. Originally Posted by SharonL Rev: 3-16

I am truly sorry for my comment if it was offensive I had no idea and I apologize wholeheartedly . I myself have anxiety disorders and can only imagine what a struggle you go through with yours. I will pray for you for strength. May God bless you and may Mary cover you in her mantle of love.

Reps: 10 (power: 0) | | | Hope There is nothing wrong with admiring something that is truly true in another religion. For instance, I came across a website that tells an islamic story about Mary going east after she was with child and God told her to pull on the branches of a date tree during labor and eat the dates both of which helped her in her labor as she gave birth to Jesus, the Son of God through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Beauty is good as long as you don't let it deceive you. Remember that Eve thought that the apple was pleasing to her eye, and desirable for gaining wisdom, but God told her and Adam both not to eat of it or they would die.
As beautiful as the Catholic faith is, the one beauty above all is the Jesus Christ died for your sins, forgives you of all you sins, and has made it possible for all of us to be one with the Father, and with Him, and His Holy Spirit.
I would recommend that you cast your eyes on what you know the Lord would approve of. Go to church and look at the stations of the cross, or at your favorite crucifix within the church and pray for the islamic people who don't believe the same as we Christians do about Jesus in the fullness of what our beloved bible tells us in the Old and New Testaments.
Read your bible and don't let beauty deceive you. You can love the people of Islam and pray for their full salvation just as they do for people they believe should be converted to Islam, but we know through the apostolic witness in the New Testament who Jesus really is in all of his fullness. Even Jesus himself spoke of Old Testament prophecy that all related to the fulfillment of his coming.
I hope this helps, and God Bless You very much. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | | | |
