Interesting. I did not know this. |

The best thing to do is remember that Christ established one faith - one Church.
Then seek that truth...
Go back to the beginning and read all thru history and it is very clear it is the Catholic Church where Peter still resides in the Pope.
And the fact Peter became the foundation is no minor detail.
I always look at the claims, then i find the history of them and i see in scriptures how the claims are false.
Muhammad very obviously went against EVERYTHING Jesus said - so how could he claim Jesus was a prophet and yet he himself was greater??
Prophets prophecy a great one is yet to come and they lay the path of who it will be and how they will live their life [so forth] as the case of Jesus being foretold over thousands of years.
Then take into account that Jesus said NO ONE shall come after Him but false prophets and false christs.
Muhammad said the followers of Jesus got it wrong and he would be God's actual messenger. Obviously putting himself in the exact position Jesus already foretold - false prophet.
Muhammas had not one miracle recorded... he healed no one. He did nothing to help humanity find God. In fact - he was pretty self centered.
He desired women, and took the choicest of the towns he pillaged. [theft]
He murdered [thou shalt not kill] and he gained power - the opposite of what Christ did or said we should do.
He married a little girl, and Jesus said 'a milstone around the neck of those who cause the loss of innocence...'
His moments of seizure like states is nothing like the calm peace one would find in the love of God when He or Mary is present. [ever see an apparitionist of children who are quite serene when seeing the Virgin - and they dont even feel pain??]
Muhammad - well, Jesus already said he would be false. That's enough for me.

Matthew Chapter 7 7 "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened." |

I can't help but think why would you, a woman, want to be a Muslim? I can understand from a mans point of view, but not from a womans. Why would you want to put yourself in slavery and oppression?

Well, I didn't see Islam as a religion of oppression and slavery. I saw the hijab (head covering) as liberating. And then I also saw the so called "scientific discoveries" in the Quran that supposedly were divinely revealed before science ever discovered them. Then I realized that those were false. Also, I guess I was looking for an "exotic" religion and Islam seemed to be an "exotic" religion to me. Thankfully, I have come around and I am faithful to the Catholic Church. This week, though, I was doubting the Faith again and considering Islam once more. Thankfully, through the prayers of some people on OBOB and other places, I was able to overcome those doubts. Thank you Jesus! |

Whenever you are tempted by such things remember that it all comes down to Jesus. The first question you must ask of any religion, any teaching, any sect, is how do they regard Jesus?
Pray that God will ever draw your heart closer to Jesus and increase your devotion to Jesus, and remember that your love is not one sided. He loves you more.
Your name here is Ave Maria, it is an interesting note that Muhammed rejected Christianity in part because he did not like the role that Mary played, her prominance and her importance.
The blessed mother always points us to her divine Son. Her great wish is that we love him more. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | | | |
