I decided to get off of the debate thread, it is a waste of time for the most part.
My time is better spent praying, and doing the things God would have me to do.
If some of them want to serve coffee and dougnuts to get people to come to church, so be it.
I'd prefer to let the Holy Spirit work through me, and perfect the gifts and callings that God has for me.
just reading some of the posts, you process it in the mind, I am not letting that stuff drop in my spirit, I shall guard my heart.
If they want to discuss our differences fine, we can talk. If they have settled the fact, they are right I am wrong, so be it.
I see prayers answered.
Not meant to be condemnation, or boastful it is just truth.

what Shaun and J4 said. Why in the world would anyone want to waste time debating with someone you already know likes to fight also.
You want to do everyone a big favor? Repent from debating and fighting with other blood bought brothers. Try spending your time praying for those who may be unhappy in their walk, not bashing them with your superiority.
Believe me, when you debate with people and make sport of it you help no one and hurt us all.
It is not bashing them, and it is not superiority.
Our faith is what the Holy Spirit has given us.
I just wish our brothers and sisters would be willing to hear us.
God answers our prayers, when our prayers go unanswered, we need to examine ourselves, and find out what we are doing wrong, God wants to answer our prayers.
and Bill I would hope that you might know me well enough to know this is said in love.

I hope I didn't say anything offensive to anyone. I don't believe I was directing my post to anything said specifically here in this thread, but if I did offend anyone, please point out to me what I said and tell me so I can correct it.
You've said nothing offensive to me. You have been nothing but kind. Luv and appreciate ya.

I for one hope you stick around a bit
I had lost the link to your web site, due to a computer crash, and was glad to see it again. I liked your response to the AG position paper, and after my AG pastors sermon on confession, I emailed him a link, in love and I pray that he would take the time to examine it.
I do not believe that it was a coincidence that I found your www link, and his mothers day sermon happened around the same time.
btw your link to the AG position paper is broken.

the AG position paper link Index of AG Position Papers
I pray that this matter can be resolved, I believe both denominations have a lot to offer one another, and I am sure that divisions do not please the Lord.
My own personal observations on the differences, I won't share publicly, because some would confuse it with putting down another brother. (which it is not the case) I can see the harm done in the body, by others not believing what we believe, and admitetly we have some things we should address, even Rev. Hagin agreed.
anyhow stick around, I have been able to learn from you. Thank you
Hi gennaoanothen
Strange enough I received an e-mail from someone just a couple of days ago who told me that the article was thorough but unconvincing
On the other hand I have actually had AoG pastors e-mail me and thank me for the article, telling me that they disagree with their denomination's stance. The web site is in serious need of rebuilding, a project I will have to work on which will include the correct link to the position paper.
But thanks for this kind post. I may have to "exit-stage left" soon but only because I have so many things going on and debating on here is cutting into that time. But I will drop in and out as time permits.

Thanks . I just always like to be sure. Sometimes you just don't know if you have offended someone. You should stick around the forum, btw. A friend of mine and I were talking last night about the debates in the SF forum, and he was telling me that we shouldn't really look at it as an effort to change the minds of the people we are debating with, because obviously, most of them are not going to change, but, instead we should look at it as an opportunity for others to be able to see and evaluate the arguments for themselves. We may not change our opponents, but we could be changing the many people who read these threads, but remain silent.
Also, in response to what some others have said about not debating or repenting from it or whatever the case might be. I don't think debating is a sin. It helps me to have to define more fully what I believe and also to learn how to express it effectively to others, and that can be taken to those who are unsaved and need the grace of God. We should be prepared with an answer for those who ask and debating with each other in a healthy way in the fear of God can help us do this, JMO.

It has helped me in that sense too. It has helped me to understand how non-wofers think and why they believe what they believe and has enabled me to look deeper into other theological dimensions. Took me outside my comfortable WoF box. Thus the reason for me starting this thread.
However, in other ways I do agree with those who do not think it is worthwhile to spend too much time debating. Some times I find myself going overboard. My problem is that if I spend time debating I want to always respond to every single challenge which often takes time. I either have to discipline myself more or leave this alone altogether.

I agree with Supplanter (not a name I remember from my previous time on this board, welcome and hello, and apologies if we have spoken before!)
Sometimes someone has to weigh into a debate, not to win an argument, not to convince the person we are sharing the debate with, but to show the open forum that a case can be made for the other side that is both Scriptural and logical.
VW, if you want to engage on this forum, throw a question or topic out there. I will respond with my opinions and thoughts and a lot of Christian love and hopefully we can have a bit of an interesting chew on the Word and its application.
Cheers,
Ben

Nope. We've never spoken before. I just started reading and posting in here a couple of weeks ago. I mostly hung around in the singles section, but had a bad break-up and convolutedly that somehow ended up with me beginning to explore this part of CF. Heartbreak can lead to beneficial things.
