Last Thursday, while I was walking on the street, a man approached me and asked me if my name was ****. I told him 'no,' then he said that he was looking for the guy who mistreated his sister, so he and 'his friends' could avenge her. I told him I wasn't the one he's looking for. He insisted to take me to the cops so his sister could personally identify me. I was hesitant but he grabbed me by the hand and accompanied me somewhere isolated (it wasn't too far). There, I didn't see anybody (there were definitely no cops!). He told me that his friends were just around the corner and they had guns, so if I called for help they would killed me. He took my cell phone and my money and threatened to stab me with the knife he was holding if I resisted. I was planning to fight back but I was too scared and I didn't want to risk my life at such a young age. I still have a lot of dreams and ambitions to fulfill. After taking my possessions, he asked me to walk away WITHOUT looking back. Thankfully, I was unharmed.
This incident happened at about 6 in the morning in an area not far away from our house. Now I'm a little bit traumatized at the incident and now I am worried because I have to pass that area everyday when I go to school. I'm starting to get crazy thoughts in my head. It would be nice if you guys could give me some sort of advice...

This must have been a very scary situation for you, Thank God you are ok, and I am glad you are talking about it.
Have you told your parents about this? Is there a way you can talk to an adult at school. This is not your fault, and a super hug to you.
One time I was in a store when it was robbed, I only had to make a report with the police, and a sketch of what I remembered he looked like. This way the police had a way to look for him. You are not in trouble with the police at all.
Is there a route you can walk that is away from this area, or walk with someone else?

Yeah I've told my parents already but not the details (i just told them I was threatened and robbed). Unfortunately, I can't remember the face of the criminal. I also have no other choice but to pass that route on my way my new school (I have just enrolled in college). I'm considering taking public transportation instead of walking there (even if it's just a short distance). Still, there's some sort of fear in me.....

Yes, go another route and talk more to your parents. Maybe you need to find some support to help you as it was a trauma situation very scary I am sure. Praying for you.

You are bound to be afraid after that kind of experience.
Taking public transport to school sounds a good plan, at least for a while.
Do you have friends at your new school, or have you not had time to get to know people? Maybe as you get to know more people, you can find people who travel the same route, and walk together.
If the fear continues, it is worth seeing a counselor to work through it.. trauma can make you ill, and it is better to deal with it quickly.
Praying for God's peace and protection

I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust."
