i've heard this phrase before by preachers, having a weak or strong spirit,
and wonder what it really means. when we are born again, our spirits are
made perfect - so how can it be weak????
any thoughts? |

This is a great subject and one that I pondered on for several years.
You are correct in saying that when we are born again our spirits are perfect. But I think that means they are perfect in nature, but not necessarily complete in "word content."
By "word content" let me use Jesus as an example.
Jesus is the "word of God."
I use the terminology "logosystem" of God.
It is as if God took all the knowledge, wisdom, and faith and put it into Jesus. He is the "Logosystem" of God.
We have the born again spirit, but it is not the complete Logosystem as Jesus is. I think it has the potential to be filled more and more with the knowledge and faith elements of the Head that is Jesus. But we are not complete in spiritual knowledge yet. The Spirit of Truth will add more and more of the word to our logosystem. It is like building a house. The foundation has to go in first. Then the floors, the walls, the plumbing, the electrical, etc, etc. You cannot put the walls up first because there is no floors to hold them. So words are added as the spirit of the believer is able to bear the load.
I hope this helps.

I guess (in my opinion) they meant having a weak or strong in faith. Depends on how you hold on to the promises of God when life doesn't make any sense or in the midst of trouble like sickness, etc.
It can also mean being filled with the Word of God, how you feed yourself. That means reading the Bible and listening to the Word preached.

I have been realizing over the last few days that Christians cannot have spiritual problems. They only have mental problems.
Blessings,
Benjamin

I heard a preacher say Christians dont have a spiritual problem, they have a surrender problem. Not surrendering their will and surrendering to their fleshly carnal way |

I often say:
I don't care what your problem is: an unrenewed mind is your problem.
