and I have since discovered Ulver. Spotify Resource
I absolutely love a lot of their music, different from one another though these bands are, I still love the feel of shoegaze. What do you guys think?

Reps: 10 (power: 0) | | | I'm not a huge fan, and it's a bit of an ill-defined genre I think, but I listen to My Bloody Valentine and Jesu who are two undoubtedly shoegaze bands. I've heard The Verve and Asobi Seksu called shoegaze also, and both of those are pretty decent bands.

Reps: 232,538,676,094,357,952 (power: 232,538,676,094,374) | | | Seconded on Asobi Seksu - I absolutely love "Walk On The Moon", and was kind of surprised when Amazon MP3 had "Me & Mary" up for free download a few weeks ago. I also have a few other songs such as "Crank" (Catherine Wheel), and stuff from Autumn's Grey Solace, as well as "Only Shallow" by My Bloody Valentine. While All About Eve also dabbled in the genre on Ultraviolet ("Phased", ftw), most of their other stuff is typically filed under Goth Rock or Folk Rock. Aside from those though, I don't have much exposure to shoegaze.

Reps: 55,987 (power: 64) | | | Showgaze kind of emerged in the mid-80s and was quite big in the 90s alt/indie scene... and seems to be still active today. The problem is that the term is thrown about so much anymore, that I often question whether it is a genre at this point. It seems to have been engulfed into different sub-genres of the indie movement.
Yet with that aside, I find that the movement has brought a lot to the evolution of music... so interesting.
