I realize that the gift of healing is supernatural, it comes from the Holy Spirit, and is temporary (or so I've heard) but I have little understanding about it. Specifically, I would like to know if it's really obvious when one heals someone through supernatural power given by the Holy Spirit. The reason I'm asking this is because I've been told by people that they think I have the gift of healing, but I can't think of an instance where I have healed anybody under unusual circumstances... unless supernatural healing includes healing someone emotionally?
Oh... I just read what I wrote and it's almost as confusing to understand as the whole concept. Sorry if my questions seem clear as mud...

Yes, supernatural healing can pertain to healing the emotions as well. I've also been told that I have a special anointing for healing the emotions. I don't believe that healing is a temporary gift. It may not manifest at all times, because healing manifests according to the perfect will of the Father. However, the truth is that it may not manifest because of unbelief as well. I think that all Christians should be praying that they not suffer from unbelief. It is easier to fall into than we may believe. (ironic) As for it healing taking place under unusual circumstances or not, all healing is from the Lord. We are just vessels of the Lord. It has nothing to do innately with us. I believe all Christians could pray and see healing manifested actually, but God also gives specific people giftings in that area that manifest in different ways. It does not have to be a dazzling spectacle to be effective (not that you were implying that). In fact, it is often more rewarding to do these things in secret (e.g., through intercession), than to actually have others see you do it. But sometimes, God also asks us to physically touch people to enact His healing upon them.
So . . .hope that helps

All gifts are administered by the Holy Ghost. Actually, healing the body from the illness must come from the Holy Ghost telling you to touch that person. That's like going into the spirit. It only can be done by the Holy Ghost taking you. I also, believe that prayers of the chosen are heard especially when there is more than one and then the person does not have to be touched by you. I think it's just the power of the Holy Ghost and those being obedient to pray as one that have the gift. Most importantly, the Holy Ghost is your teacher and shows you how to use your gifts that God has given you when you become mature enough in the Lord to have them revealed to you.
Nahum 1:9 afflication won't rise up a second time, some versions of bible say trouble, some say distress, and some say afflication. So thats why i dont think that healling is temporary.
I usually receive instant healings when praying for myself. Praise Him.Haven't really tried it on other people. but there's one thing i've prayed about for ages and i just can't seem to receive even though i know He wants to give. I really hope it's true that you have the gift. it would be such good news for so many people. keep us posted!
