I told him that I know it's not politically correct to share that in Australia but I needed to and that he is free to mock me, laugh at me, call me names, and think I'm a fool for Christ.
Did you really add this bit? That's the kind of thing that puts me into ignore mode.
What about the Newsboys and Hillsong? With the Christian stuff that comes out of Australia, it seems like you guys are really Christian. Is it not mainstream down there?
Of course it is mainstream, it just isn't aggressively pushing anti science anti homosexual agendas on people who aren't interested.
I've seen Hillsong utilise tactics like peer pressure and captive audience in their recruitment which I consider pretty unethical, but people are still able to choose to obey Hillsong.
I mentioned earlier Father Bob who is a much loved priest here, he was criticised by the church for selling off valuable properties to fund his charity work where, by contrast, Hillsong has been buying up as much property as they can and turning the owners into multi millionaires.
Which is why I think it's unfortunate that Hillsong is mainstream and Catholic attendance is dwindling.

Yeah, I started out by saying that I'd heard a conversation where the consensus was that the majority of Australians weren't Christian and it's not politically correct to share but I need to.
I shared the Gospel, as I described earlier, and then I said again that I know it's not politically correct to share the Gospel so feel free to laugh, mock, etc. I then said that I did it because I care and that the choice is solely his and asked him to please choose wisely.

I don't know enough about them to offer much thought. They do have a program on Christian TV here. I rarely watch tv anymore but when I do come across it, it's mostly worship songs.

Hmmm...that's interesting....I guess it sort of plays into human nature (carnally) in that people want to not only give the appearance of but be involved in things that exude success. Selling properties to pay for charity projects, while a noble thing in my opinion, is viewed as negative in the world (as though financial support equals success)...while the ability to expand and do charities at the same time is seen as positive and successful when it could really be very worldly and destructive.

Christianity is very mainstream here. That still doesn't mean any given Australian necessarily wants to be bombarded with someone else's religious views.
Like I said, I'd wait until you are invited to discuss this stuff with someone before you go all evangelical on them.

Is that what Jesus would do?
I made the mistake of thinking that I had to befriend somebody before sharing the Gospel. I also made the mistake of holding it in for three years, in fear that the guy might think I'm a Jesus freak. Those are two very stupid, arrogant, tragic mistakes and can be looked at as denying Christ. It comes down to who do you love. That choice has to be Jesus.
Jesus said if you deny him, he will deny YOU before the Father.
Mat 10:33But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
(Of course, I'm not saying people should talk only about the Gospel daily but it's important to be open and ready to share when the Lord gives us the opportunities in our everyday lives while others are led to go out specifically and talk to people only about the Gospel)

Fine Jen, go ahead and blaze away Gospel at the guy. Let us know how that turns out for ya.
Like I said, I already sent the fax and I told you guys what's in it. I didn't put my name on it, only a return fax number but I also said "no reply required". So, I don't think I'll know, in this life, how it'll turn out. I pray that he chooses wisely.

You didn't put your name on it? ...OK.
Anyway, best of luck, and like I said, love to hear how it turns out.
