If you do think that, then how do you answer someone who asks you how we know the universe has a beginning?

Could you elaborate? I don't see how the absence of a beginning of the universe would keep objects within the universe from aging. |

The universe would be unageable (sweet word), but not things within the system since age is a relative term. An eternal prexistence of the universe would have no change on the fact that the fire in my fireplace is 2 hours old relative to the surface of the earth. The way we determine age now would not change were the universe to have no beginning. |

Please.. Define your definition of "the universe." What constitutes, "the Universe?" .
