that will not happen, they will offer the award to someone who will not turn it down, either a mediocre talent who needs some fame or someone of compromised morals
I am available.
One thing worth looking at here is who Miss Glendon was appointed by and which administration she represented as an Ambassador.
For those not sure of the answer to that question, here is a hint:
It is possible that this is being done purely out of religious conviction, but it is also possible that there is an element of partisanship in play here. I wouldn't overlook the latter as being an element of this. If this story were reported more as "Bush appointee upset that Obama is being honored", I doubt it would be viewed as being that noteworthy or significant.

well i would hope it is not partisan play, i also, do not think that would be a factor, i mean, these kinda things happen, people come in and out of office, parties wax and wane, you get used to it, you do not turn down an award from ND just because somebody else getting an award is from a differant party (unless that party is the Nazi party ofcourse lol) so since Obama is not a member of the 3rd Reich, i think this is something more then just political

Kinda makes sense don't it? I mean considering who holds which positions on life you would sorta like, you know, expect this, right? I mean like Obama isn't gonna, from what we've seen, appoint a person who like, you know, holds the position on life Miss Glendon does to any position of influence, is he?

The financial penalty resulting from the decision to honor the most pro-abortion president in our nation's history will be enormous.
DEARBORN, Michigan (Zenit) -
A Notre Dame alumni coalition verified that donors have pledged to withhold $8.2 million from the university in protest of the school's decision to honor President Barack Obama.
The coalition launched the national outreach effort one week ago, appealing to alumni and benefactors to hold back donations until the university's president, Father John Jenkins, is replaced.
In a press release today, the group, called "Replace Jenkins," reported that over 900 pledges have been sent online with the promise of canceling payments to the school, including notifications from donors who removed large estate bequests to the university from their wills.

The President has yet to appoint his ambassador to the Vatican yet. I consider it likely that the person he appoints will be pro-life on the abortion question, though obviously we'll have to wait and see.
In the meantime, though, we do know that President Obama has taken a lot of steps to show that he values human life and human dignity on issues other than abortion, steps that former President Bush did not take.

one of the first things Mr.Obama did was to do away with the Mexico City Policy, he is an enemy of the unborn

Here is the post you just replied to. I put the part I think you may have missed in bold:
