My variation of YouTube’s a1angiem’s buttermilk pancake recipe

Although not the flawless store-bought pancake mix pancakes or restaurant pancakes, Angie’s recipe produces quite the respectable pancakes. I just recommend three changes:
  • Use 1 1/4 cups milk soured with 1 tablespoon of cream of tartar. (The milk is left out at room temperature for 15 minutes to sour: see: I need a substitute for buttermilk in ...) This gives it an excellent flavor. If you’re like me, and don’t like cream of tartar in your angel food cake, now you have something to use your cream of tartar in.
  • Leave the baking soda out. The last time I made my pancakes with baking soda, I discovered it to be a potent laxative I rather afterwards use the baking soda mixed with vinegar to clean the stainless steel pan with which I cook the pancakes; it cleans well
  • No need for the oil or butter.

Recipe:
1 1/3 cup flour
3 Tbsp sugar
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 egg beaten
1 1/4 cups sour milk (soured with cream of tartar for 15 mins)
1/4 tsp vanilla

After a lot more experience with the recipe, I have come to the conclusion that it has a few flaws: dryness and too much sourness. I did different things to it, but none of it worked. I think I'll give up on the recipe; although, I will miss the ease of making it. Well, come to think of it, maybe I’ll give it one more try
