WoF doctrine speaks much more truth, based on God's Word correctly interpreted, than just pointing out via it's name (WORD of faith) that the SPOKEN Word IS life and directs God's power to action as the joint-aire believer speaks it WITH THE IDENTICAL AUTHORITY JESUS POSSESSED HERE!
Jesus was made Lord and Christ by God. (Acts 2:36)
Act 2:36
36 "Therefore let the whole House of Israel know beyond all doubt that God has made Him both LORD and CHRIST--this Jesus whom you crucified."
We receive salvation when we believe in His lordship and call upon His name for mercy. (Rom 10:9-13)
Rom 10:9-13
9 that if with your mouth you confess Jesus as Lord and in your heart believe that God brought Him back to life, you shall be saved.
10 For with the heart men believe and obtain righteousness, and with the mouth they make confession and obtain salvation.
11 The Scripture says, "NO ONE WHO BELIEVES IN HIM SHALL HAVE REASON TO FEEL ASHAMED."
12 Jew and Gentile are on precisely the same footing; for the same Lord is Lord over all, and is infinitely kind to all who call upon Him for deliverance.
13 For "EVERY ONE, WITHOUT EXCEPTION, WHO CALLS ON THE NAME OF THE LORD SHALL BE SAVED."
Jesus died for our sins and was raised for our justification. (Rom 4:25)
Rom 4:25
25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.
Because of this we were raised up together with Jesus in the new birth. (Eph 2:5-6, 1 Peter 1:3, 2 Cor 5:17) Eph 2:5-6
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved) ;
6 And hath raised [us] up together, and made [us] sit together in heavenly [places] in Christ Jesus:
1Pe 1:3
3 Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
2Co 5:17
17 Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
This new nature is incapable of sin and enables us to walk in true righteousness and fellowship with God. It is the purpose and intention that we walk completely free from all sin. (Eph 2:10, Eph 4:24, Col 3:9-10, 1 John 3:9)
Eph 2:10
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Eph 4:24
24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
Col 3:9-10
9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
10 And have put on the new [man], which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
1Jo 3:9
9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
This is my primary list. Everything else is secondary to these facts. Notice there is nothing in it about heaven, healing, health, prosperity, or gifts of the spirit! Strange for WOF huh? I do believe in these things also... but they are really afterthoughts to the redemption of our spirits and enablement to live righteously and in fellowship with God.
I will get into the rest in another post.

With sincerest apologies to our dear departed brother Rich Mullins
I believe in God the Father
Almighty Maker of Heaven and Maker of Earth
And in Jesus Christ His only begotten Son, our Lord
He was conceived by the Holy Spirit
Born of the virgin Mary
Suffered under Pontius Pilate
He was crucified and dead and buried
And I believe what I believe is what makes me what I am
I did not make it, no it is making me
It is the very truth of God and not the invention of any man
I believe that He who suffered was crucified, buried, and dead
He descended into hell and on the third day, rose again
He ascended into Heaven where He sits at God's mighty right hand
I believe that He's returning
To judge the quick and the dead of the sons of men
I believe in God the Father
Almighty Maker of Heaven and Maker of Earth
And in Jesus Christ His only begotten Son, our Lord
I believe in the Holy Spirit
One Holy Church
The communion of Saints
The forgiveness of sin
I believe in the resurrection
I believe in a life that never ends

1 Cor 4:20 For the kingdom of God is not in word but in power.
Psalms 119:89 - Forever, Oh Lord, Thy Word is settled in the heavens.
If it's settled in the Eternal realm, then we agree to make it settled in the Temporal realm as well.
I agree to agree with God.

Galatians 3:19 - What then was the purpose of the Law? It was added because of transgressions and [to make men more conscious of the sinfulness] of sin; and it was intended to be in effect until the Seed (the Descendant, the Heir) should come, to and concerning Whom the promise had been made.
What is the "Word of Faith"? And what do you believe?
In Christ,
Jeff
I'm glad to see our Catholic brethren checking in on us so quickly, I have many wonderful Catholic friends and I think it would be very good for this forum to anwswer some questions about what we believe.

My best friends through High School were Catholic.
I enjoy the discussions with them.

Very good list Dids. Especially number five. This is the one God's been hammering on me to expound on for some time now, but it is so hard to explain to those who don't already understand it. It is a primary component of Grace and it seems that the wisdom of Grace only comes by revelation. Is that what you see also?
With your understanding of Grace, it's an easy transition for yourself but maybe not others. When I do Addiction Restoration groups, the first question I ask is, "Do you believe that it is possible to NOT sin?"
If the answer is "no", then that person will have a hard time renewing their mind to the Word. Not to say that we don't plunge in and try, but "sin" is a doctrine that many believers add to their list of beliefs and doctrinal theology. I've literally heard people say, "We HAVE to sin!"
I can't believe it?!?!? It's actually their doctrine. Not that they don't fight temptation, but it's as though they believe that God is pleased with them in attempting to resist temptation in the flesh but He knows that they're going to sin anyway and that its okay when they do!
Paul said, "God forbid!"
Why would he say that if it were not possible through understanding the new life?
And then from there, every letter he writes to the church tells us to transition from the old nature to the new nature!
That's also why I believe Covenantal theology is so important to understanding how we truly live by the Word of Faith.
