Hey all...
Ok so i have been here a few months now and i think its time i shared with you a little bit (or a lot... if you wanna ask questions) about myself and where i have come from...

LIFE SUCKS!!

this is the view, and subsequent attitude that i formed in the first 15 years of my life. I was born into what seemed to be a normal, western sydney family in 85. Though behind closed doors, it wasnt as normal as it seemed from the outside.
from a very young age my father used to call me names, put me down and plain old tell me he didnt like me. the only memories i have of living in western sydney... well the only memories i have of my old man was him beating me. I used to challang him about it a few times... but kinda stopped doing that when his physicallity worsened after i did that.
The authorities were called a few times but nothing ever happened about it.. i was a prisoner in my own home and it seemed like i had no way out.

i remember from a very young age (about 9 or 10) i had suffered from depression and by the time i hit high school (about 12) i was suicidal and had attempted a few times.
in high school i was a bit of an outcast... didnt know anyone... had no friends and was loner for about the first fews weeks. I found out a long lost cousin went to my school and so i started hanging out with him... which wasnt the greatest of ideas ive ever had...
thanks to him and his mates... i started smoking and drinking and eventually foun some friends through that of my own age. though i wasnt getting drunk nor was i doing it all the time... i still was being accepted and thats what i wanted.
though my new found friends... were associated with gang activity and got me carrying weapons and fireworks for them while at school.

this one kid i met... he was a christian and invited me along to a youth group he went to. i started going so i could basically get away from the awful home life i was experencing... and after a while at youth group... i found it enjoyable to annoy and [wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth] the leaders off.
though after a while i kinda grew out of youth group a bit and was thinking about leaving when my mate that invited me to youth group i shouldnt cos then id have to stay home which i didnt like to do so i kept going.

the youth group had a week long camp they ran... and cos my home life was really awfull and my choice of lifestyle and friends werent going to great i chose to go on this camp for 1 reason and one reason only... to top myself. end it all so that everyone would be happeir that i was gone.
so i packed my bags.. toddled off to 'bible' camp and for some reason i kept on listening to the leaders on my part of camp crap on about how christianity was all about rules... and their false doctrine about heaven... and i remember sitting down in one of the bible study groups thinking to myself ' man this bible stuff is sooo bad... it doesnt make any sense.. whod believe this junk' and it was on one of the nights... the preacher finished his talk and everyone went back to their own campsites and as we walked back to our camp i sat down on this curb and thought to myself.. this is it... its time to go... and i remember the last guy that walked past me... he looked at me and saw me sitting there... and he came up to me and said... 'hey adrock... God loves you' and walked off
and you know what... yup... ever since that time i have been a follower of God.

life after my conversion has still been hard... I havent spoken to my old man in over 8 years. ive seen my sister fall away from Christ... i have been ridiculed and put down majorly by those in a church i was at... I have experienced 2 very harsh break ups (in which i lost alot of friends in both cases).... but life doesnt suck... its hard but life does not suck,... LIFE IS GOOD WITH GOD!

well thats my little story... my experiences arent really all that... nor do they make my story any better than anothers.... all testamonies.. in my view.. are just as exciting as each others because each person has found God and God found them! and that is exciting to me!

That's powerful, Adrock! I felt the goodness of God sweep over me when I read that! And He still loves you! And yes, He'll help you deal with your family and father...if you let Him.

I know though, when I was little I didn't understand the bible or enjoyed sunday school much.

But it all made sense later on

Keep up the fight! For in this life there will always be evil trying to twist and turn your ways away from the Lord. But their deeds will end up in darkness and the lake of fire after the 2nd return of Jesus
