Luke 22:43And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him. 44And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.
what do you think the angel said or did to Jesus to strengthen him? If you were the angel what would you say?

I like the question, too, although I have no idea what I'd say. I'm terrible at comforting people (I listen well, but I never know what to say), so I can't imagine what I'd say at such a moment... it almost seems beyond comprehension.

Now use your imagination...but then again sometimes being silent and just hugging a person is plenty. do you think the angel hugged Jesus?

I love the thoughts about how you re-act to Jesus' sufferings.
here's something I copied form another forum. This really touched me.
written by hank:
"Instead of encourage him, a heart felt reminder that he is God. "Oh Son of God, Victory is yours" . Over and over.
Maybe the angel already knew the outcome...they knew they were going to win. They're not crying, they're laughing. The encouragement is an eternal outcome they both know. And all the saved souls get full pardons based on what You are doing here. Eternity. Guaranteed. Accept it in your heart and you're in".
"But, as far as removing the cup, it has to be this way". "When we come back for the second and final time, they will understand why it had to be this way".
Maybe they are discussing what going to happen to Peter when the rooster crows. "I'll keep an eye on him Sir, make sure he feels real bad, then inspire him to start your church"
Imagine this. All this encouragement, prayer, laughter and tears, this full range of emotions, and then you the angel look up, roll your eyes, "My Lord and Saviour, they're sleeping overthere, remind them that temptation comes to the weak, and ask them why they are sleeping" as He makes his way back to the disiples."

I don't know, Amy. I'd be totally speechless hugging Jesus, just feeling His love... wow... oh wow...
Boy do I need His hugs right now...
You're very talented, Amy.

Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing: "To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!" (Revelation 5:13)
