Dow predictions; 3/3/2009

5400 in October.

No short term predictions. But before March, 2019, the DJIA will reach 20,000 and the S & P 500 will hit 3,000.

Between July and December 2009, Dow = 9,000

5years from now (2014)Dow = 15,000

DOW 3000 by end 2010. S&P 400.

Some laughed at me when I said back in October last year oil would go to $50.

We haven't seen anything yet. Wait until the derivatives fueled self-feeding-frenzy kicks in, and it could be even worse.

Some people have insane-optimism syndrome. Where is the recovery going to come from? What is going to halt the collapse?

I consider myself optimistic and I'm in FAZ. (tripple short financials)

My point is if you really believe its all coming down, the financial instruments are out there to make some big bucks off of it. FAZ was up 24% TODAY. Go do it.

OTOH if you realize this is only short term, be sure to plan your exit. Unless some really odd things happen tomorrow I will close the position by the end of trading.

Below 6,000 by the end of the month
Below 5,000 by the end of June.
Below 4,000 by January 1st.
Between 2,000 and 3,200 by the middle of next year.

No short term predictions. 0 by 2060.

Considering what we have been seeing in the news lately I am not sure that there is too much reason for optimism.
