We are no longer under the law. The law was our guard until faith would arrive. (Galatians 3:23) Now that faith has come, since John (Luke 16:16), the law is summed up in one that is love. (Romans 13:9) John preached that salvation is by belief and repentance. And by the hearing of faith, we recieved the Holy Spirit. (Galatians 3:2) If you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law but under grace. (Galatians 5:18) For we are not saved by works, but by grace. (Ephesians 2:8-9) This is His new commandment: Love your neighbor as yourself. (1 John 3:23)
I would advise anyone who has a problem with the law read the book of Galatians. This book is a provactive reading, guaranteed to fill your soul with sorrow and happiness. It is a good thing to know that we are no longer under the law.
Praise the Lord.
Very true. So how should Christians view God's words in the Law? After all, the Ten Commandments. Do we just cut and paste?

Thats in the first place... the second place is that Jesus released us from observance to the old Law under the New Covenant
What is its modern role? Morality is derived from creatively interpreting apocryphal texts, not the desire to reduce human suffering. Creatively interpret.
Are some saying the Levitical Law was written just for men then? Are there any specific laws in Leviticus that pertain to women?
My post is in reply to Ollie Franz and Lighthorseman's posts thus far.
Look at Leviticus 18:23 and Leviticus 20:15-16. Here it is forbidden for a man and just as forbidden for a woman. In most of the adultery and "incest" laws, although described from the male point of view, both a man and a woman are involved. In this law, only one human participant is involved, and it specifically includes women as well as men. But Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13 are silent on women.
