It's at the point now where it's affecting my relationships with people around me, because I often forget to do things, and when I do remember, I don't seem to be able to get myself motivated to do it. Does that sound like anyone else in here?

Reps: 325,879,574,757 (power: 325,879,578) | | | Went to the doctor, and he prescribed me some ritalin as an experiment. I began taking it today, and it's already working wonders. I'm able to stay on task much easier, and my mind doesn't wander nearly as much. However, if I do in fact have it, it must be a mild strain, because I am not generally a hyperactive person.

My doctor did the same for me. I also have energy problems and it has helped with that. Does it make you nervous? How long do the good effects last? When I take Ritalin it wears off in a few hours. We're all different though.

I'm actually not nervous with it, but I do feel a bit more hyper with it, like my body is reacting to a touch of adrenalin. The effects last about 5 hours with me, give or take depending on how active I am, it seems. It's amazing how well my focus has improved, and my memory seems to be getting a bit better due to my new focus.

I'm really glad your therapy is working for you. I can relate to just about everything you've said. God bless you.

And may He do the same for you. It's only been a few days, but if this works, this may help me focus on finding a good career option instead of working a dead-end job.

Write it down!
A good discipline is to write down the things that need to get done, and prioritize them. Have a note pad or sticky pad and pen with you at all times.
Also do not get comfortible, put the hard things to do first and easy ones last. This way at the end of the day your responciblities are done and all is left if the fun stuff that can get lost in.
GET OUT OF COMFORT ZONES! or remove things that you get lost in. Out of sight out of mind. Taking walks help clears the mind too.

I tried writing it down, but would forget to. I put the hard things first, because I enjoy goofing off when there's nothing to do.
In any case, the medicine is working, but the dosage isn't lasting very long, perhaps 3.5 to 4 hours on 20mg twice daily. I went to the doctor yesterday and he upped it to 30mg twice a day. I started it this morning, and I already feel better and more focused then the first round of treatment.

me too, I was looking up symptoms, I've been kinda spacey my whole life though not so much hyper. I finally know why I've been getting in trouble at work!!! The boss is not really as much of an @ after all . I was kinda wandering what's wrong with me but, I've been so afraid of starting the med for it for fear of negative side affects.... I never been tested, does it cost a lot of money to get tested?
